Me too, Kay..hard to believe Elvis has been gone so long.

My son was 4 when Elvis died and I told him that day he was born on the same day as Elvis Presley. Turned out, for years before we would start his bday party, we had to play an Elvis record. :)

This Mom is feeling older today since my son is now 37!

I'm watching Viva Las Vegas as I type. The TCM station is showing Elvis films today, and Blue Hawaii was on before this one started. Then they will have two documentaries about him, followed by Jail House Rock.

We knew someone who worked with Elvis on a couple of films, and said he was very polite, nice and down to earth.

He will always be remembered and always missed.

I just got a email from southern plate showing a Elvis Presley cake. I am going to try it soon. I was thinking his BD was in Aug. I guess thats when he died.

Elvis Presley Cake

1 box yellow cake mix
1 (3-ounce) box vanilla pudding (not sugar free!)
4 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1 cup milk
1 (16-ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 cup sugar

Mix cake mix, pudding, eggs, oil, and milk. Beat until smooth.Bake in greased 9Ã13-inch pan in 350F preheated oven for 45-60 minutes (or until center springs back).While cake is baking, boil pineapple and sugar on top of stove until sugar has melted. While cake is still hot, punch holes in cake and pour hot pineapple over cake. Let cool.

FROSTING:

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 stick butter or margarine, softened
3 cups confectioners sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add confectioners sugar gradually and beat until creamy. Add pecans, if desired, and mix well. Drop by dollops onto cake until top is mostly covered, then smooth and spread to frost cake.

My son and Elvis died on the same day.
It is hard to believe Elvis would be 75 but even harder to know my son would be 41 this year.

Do you remember where you were when you heard the news...I was outside at my Mom's house tanning...She came out and told me and it took me awhile to wrap my head around that one...I was stunned...I sure wish he woulda taken better care of himself...or had people around him that took better care of him...

There was a special on channel 8 tonite,Lisa Marie,pricila,they claimed elvis 'grandson looks just like elvis,I didnt think so.anybody see him?

When Elvis' death was announced on the radio, I was walking down the hospital hallway, carrying two newborns to their mamas - I worked in the newborn nursery at the time.

Memories,pressed between the pages of my mind. Happy Birthady Elvis. We all miss you terribly...

Carol, I'm sorry. How hard for you. As for Elvis, it irks me when Pricilla is called his Widow. Didn't she divorce him? With good cause, if I remember correctly, but if your divorced from a man, you can't be his Widow. This is being catty, but I wish she would do something with her hair. She is too old to wear it long, straight and just hanging. Not to mention her botched plastic surgery. JMO. Dottie
