Anyone Celebrate New Years Day with Foods

I posted over on Recipe Exchange, but not sure how fast it moves, and I really need to pull this together. So, I thought I would pick the brains of the talented folks on this forum.

Do any of you entertain on New Years Day? What do you serve? I've never done this particular meal for a group, and I know, I for one, am tired of turkey, ham and prime rib.

I would also like to make a few dishes that are supposed to bring good health, luck and prosperity, being served as part of the New Years Day meal. I think lentils are a NYD food, but am not sure of their significance?

Going to try and do buffet, as I don't have a hard number, (15 to 20), just having a group gathering for a meal to celebrate the start of a New Year.

So, if any of you host a NYD get together, make any "New Year's Day" dishes, I'd love to hear some good ideas. It is already Wednesday nite, and I've got nothin. I think I am fooded out. lol

TIA
