Yellowing Underarms on White Shirts
Comments (22)Here is a testimonial to the Sun Oxy bucket stuff. You can also purchase it at Dollar General stores. I went to a yard sale and there was a huge bag of white t shirts that would fit my grandsons, FREE. BAG OF RAGS. I brought them home. In a 5 gallon bucket I put in a scoop of the Sun Oxy powder, and the hottest water my tap would give me. Dissolved it and put in a wad of t shirts. I have a basement, and no one but me goes down there. So I had the bucket down there. Every time I went down I checked on the shirts. Some came clean overnight and I took them out and swished the others in the bucket of now cold water they were in. I actually ended up leaving a few for about a week. (since I forgot about them) Needless to say, I am sold on Sun Oxy for old yellow stains on whites. I gave my grandsons piles of t shirts that looked like new. In the future, I suggest a washing technique I read here years ago. A woman stated her mom always washed whites twice. Once in cold water, once in hot. The cold water gets out any stains that need the cold treatment of washing, and the hot took out any others. I tried it and have never went back. With a traditional washer and now with an HE. My whites have never been whiter and brighter. So soak in the oxy, do a wash cycle in cold, one in hot, and you will need sunglasses to fold them. :) NOTE: for safety sake, if you have small kids or pets, don't leave a bucket of oxy water around for them to drink, fall in, etc!!!!...See MoreGag gifts
Comments (19)I found the tax shelter in this posting when searching for a gift for my brother. He is a tax preparer and has everything. So I just had to share what I did for him. I took one of those woodcraft houses from Walmart- removed the two screws from the base. I cut a 1" block of wood that fit into the bottom of the house. I glued this block onto the base thus allowing the top of the house to be easily lifted off the base. I cut a 1/2" groove in the center of the block with the table saw so I could set a card of thumb tacks into it. This was hidden in the house until the top was lifted off. I wrote a poem for this & read it to him while my daughter did a Vanna White presentation of the house. Everyone got a good laugh out of this and I finally did a complete craft project! It's been a while. Hope you have as much fun with this as we did. Here's the poem: I drew your name for Christmas It's an honor, don't you know To get my brothers name for Christmas Ah! ashopping I will go. But then I started frettin After searching high and low Whatever will I get 'im (Twas wrong to worry so!) I went into an office shop Maybe something for your desk? I talked to the clerk a lot She tried to aid me in my quest. He could use a tax shelter Is what the lady said It seemed a bit off-kelter But there was nothing left instead. So here's your little shelter All painted so very nice The foundation has been mended The roofs' been polished thrice. The flowers are all blooming In the big pot by the door The bumblebees are buzzing And there's no sawdust on the floor. It seems to be the perfect place I do agree she's right It sure beats a plain old case And your tacks! They're finally safe at night!...See MoreApril 22 to April 28th San Diego

Comments (11)Kbram I suffered from this for years and then I switched from using a standard antiperspirant which basically is designed to cake your pores shut. And those same chemicals mix with the sweat and dead cells and bacterial residues to make those stains on the underarms. Our bodies are designed to sweat, and pure sweat has no smell but it creates a haven for bacteria and other little creatures to breed and its their waste products which make up body odor. Plain sweat also does not stain. I switched to using a hypersaline deodorant, this basically allows you to sweat but because it is so salty it kills all the bacteria off so you don't have any noticeable odor. It works. I have put a link to the one I currently use called the Crystal but there are many brands. I like the roll-on although the stick one is more effective. It just gets a bit abrasive after a while. My wife couldn't believe the results and although no conclusive studies have shown harmful effects from aluminum based anti-perspirants I will say I feel better too for what that's worth. Good luck. Here is a link that might be useful: The Crystal deodorant...See Moresuburbanmd
