I love minute steaks. Boyfriend, in college, use to cook those, serve with a tossed salad and Russian dressing.

Been craving Mexican and that's what I had.

Then stopped at Fresh Market for Italian sausage and a yam, to cook for myself lunch, Sunday.

We are having chicken breasts, pounded thin & then breaded & fried in olive oil. Homemade potato salad & homemade white bread. For dessert I made brownies. Cold here, it was 18 this morning

Watching the football game,
and waiting for the pizza guy to come.

Patti how do you fix your cube steak? Seems like tough meat to me so I don't buy it. Also what is crispies?

I've been watching food shows all day. That's what I do when I'm trying to lose weight. Watch what I can't eat. Go figure. We're having a hamburger and stir fried snap peas, peppers, and onions using very little oil. I'm sick of chicken!

Paula Deen's meatloaf, oven browned 'potatoes' (turnips) and a huge tossed salad. I seldom cook a dinner on Saturdays, we usually have wings or something similar so this was a treat!

I made pizza, and LOADED it with red peppers! Yum!

DH is working close to a 12 hour shift today. He figured he'd get a half hour to hour break around supper time. So I dived into the freezer and took out a bowl of "soup", I thought it was either taco or spicy chicken soup because I saw corn in it. I just put it on to simmer, while waiting for him to come in at the last minute, no clue when he will get the break. It's chili! LOL No corn to be found in it.
Sandwiches to go with and I am baking peach cobbler in the oven that is almost done.

Darn it, Glenda. I miss Fresh Market since we moved from Gainesville. Sure hope we get one here soon. BTW, I've been meaning to tell you I didn't see you note about not adding the dressing to your Alaskan cole slaw except for what we planned to eat, so I added it all. And I must say, we are still eating it and it seems to get better every day. All those flavors are delicious.

Mary3444, your dinner sounds wonderful, but your weather sure doesn't. Hope you warm up soon!

Sunshines, cube steak is actually just round steak pounded with thin with the side of the mallet that makes little holes in the meat. You buy it that way at the grocery. It's what they use to make country-fried steak, if you've ever had that. It's actually quite tender and really tasty. I just flour it and fry it on both sides. The crispies are the little bits that fall off like you get when you fry chicken in a pan instead of deep-frying it. They make the gravy so good.

I've been doing the same thing all day, Georgysmom. I love FoodTV but switched to the Cooking channel later.

Lynn, hope you have enough leftover for tomorrow so you can have at least one cook free weekend evening. It sounds nice and healthy!!

Love, cubed steak with gravy. Some of you all are making me hungry..I think I am jealous, cause all we are having is Salad, Chili and cornbread. (sniff, sniff)

Susan on, I admire you for making your own pizza. What kind of red peppers--hot or mild? I used to love a lot of red pepper flakes on pizza, but age has changed my tummy (unfortunately in more ways than one).

Shirley, there wasn't a crumb left--sorry. Next time I'll make more :-) We hadn't had it for a long time, so it tasted really good.

Glenda, I apologize. I kept meaning to mention how much we liked the slaw, but kept forgetting to. We still have enough left tomorrow and we really like it "aged".

Nodakgal, I admire your husband's stamina. I must be hard working so many hours in a row. He'll probably appreciate a big bowl of hearty chili. I've taken stuff out the the freezer plenty of times and had a surprise when it was something other than I thought. Now that I use the Food Saver I write what's in it on the top.

Susie, we are totally out of pork chops, but have tons of ham so we'll have to use that before I can possibly fit anything in the outside refrigerator freezer compartment where I keep my meat. I love pork chops and dressing. I just use Stove Top though that I doctor up a bit.

Thistledew, your dinner sounds delicious. Maybe you just aren't in the mood for chili. If not, my adress is......:-)

We are having chile verde enchiladas......and maybe a salad.
It is in the oven now.

Patti, I put sweet red pepper pieces on my pizza. I put a tiny bit of garlic powder in the crust, just to liven it up. I throw all the dough ingredients in the bread maker and go from there, If I had my way, I'd put onions on it too. It's easy to make, and we like it more than delivery pizza. MIL loves it, and we sent some home with her.

Company here for the weekend. I made my house fried rice and pot stickers. Everyone loved it and ate lots. I still have a bunch of fried rice left over. YAY!!!

Today I spent cleaning up the kitchen, doing a load of laundry and then cutting and dicing all the vegetables for the fried rice.
