Per the link below, I think that they should be fine. In order to determine what type of barstool or counterstool you need, measure the table or counter that they are intended to be used with. Measure the distance from the floor to the top of the table. I agreed to have our floor tile installed before the cabinets are installed. Is this a good idea? It's not a BAD idea. It can be done either way-- tile first, or cabinets first. I've done it both ways, and personally, I like the tile going in first because it gives a much cleaner look. But either way can be done. In the meantime, I've been wondering if I want the tile to go all the way to the walls. It will boost everything up higher No it won't, because if the cabinets go in first, your carpenter will most likely put plywood under the cabinets to account for that height difference. otherwise, you'll have big problems installing a dishwasher, trash compactor, or any other "under countertop" appliance you may have. I don't understand why that is an issue. I don't either. I'll agree that it's not going to hurt anything if the tile under the cabinets isn't grouted. But it SHOULD be grouted, and if he's doing this just to rush it, I'd be STANDING on the brakes. Makes me wonder what else he's rushing. Also, just because the cabinets are being delivered on thursday doesn't mean they have to be installed right away. They can be set off to the side while the grout sets up, and then installed starting first thing friday morning. In fact, it'd probably be better that way, because then the carpenters will have all day to work on them, instead of getting started on them part way into the day. I'd be putting my foot down and demanding either the tile be grouted first, or the cabinets go in before the tile.

leep, that's awesome they're willing to do that to make you a happy customer. They'll get referrals from you for this...it's the name of the game in this economy. Make the customer happy enough to pass your name along with no reservations. A little jackhammering, concrete and plumbing will go a long way. Since they're going to do that...go for it!! You did some research and found out in time to fix it, and I'm thrilled you're gonna get better jet height... I was so afraid they'd balk...good for you both. Really great company you hired! Can't wait to see pics of the new jet placement. Thumbs all the way up!! Another 2 weeks or so will make no difference at all in the long run, AND they're getting some nice free positive advertising here on the Forum. Never hurts. ;-)

Can't say where the window s/b placed w/o a pic -- it always depends :) Definitely the outside of the house trumps and the interior may be a decorating challenge -- but I'm not sure about aligning the top of smaller accent window with the others ... seems I usu see them offset ... but I haven't seen it or where it fits in the scheme of the facade. Seems strange that the architect/builder hasn't worked those details out for you ??? those aren't the type of decisions that most people know how to make ... esp w/o a drawing. Why aren't there any drawings or specs for the plan? Maybe you could just make a little drawing, scan it, and post a pic of that :) Too big of a decision -- certainly they can hold on that and work on another section. Look through magazines and books ... you will find many examples of window placement.
