What size are the garden gloves? I've got what Jerry Seinfeld said on one show about a girlfriend having "man hands". LOL They're not that bad, but regular gloves are too small for me, usually length-wise more often than width-wise.

I've tried making my own oil with alcohol and the essential oils, but never could get the scent just right and they seemed to clog up my wicks.. so I stick with mixing the La Tee Da oils with the 91% alcohol. Mustangs - do you have a favorite floral scent in the La Dee Da oils that isn't too flowery? I might want to try something different next time I order.

Hi Fripper. I got my Lampe Berger as a gift, but i purchase my oils from the local Hallmark store. Not all hallmarks sell it though. Call around to check as sometimes local jewelry and furniture stores sell them too. There used to be a dealer locator on the Lampe site. The prices can range from $40 to like $2000 if you want crystal (total overkill for my house). I chose my second based on the decor of my home since they all work the same. you light the wick for about 2 mins, then blow it out and cover with the diffuser and scents the room. Then you cover the burner with the cap to stop. My initial set included the oil Kashmir which smelled really good. I also really like Amber Powder (fav), Journey to Bahia, fig, and clean cotton. Hopefully you could find a local dealer so you can smell the different scents. There are samples in the store of each and some great seasonal ones. Basically any type of scent you could want depending on your tastes like florals, fruits, and exotic locations. What types of scents do you normally like? That would really help with suggestions. I don't have any birds, but i've never had any problems burning it around my pets (dogs). They work so well that you don't really need to burn it very long. It doesn't cover the odors, it eliminates them like nothing i've seen, so you wouldn't need it daily. Kirkland's sells a version that works okay, but not quite like the original. Maybe you could burn it in a separate room away from the birds. Hopefully you can find something local. Best of luck.

I have several of the lamps that I puchased online - search around for deals - Lamp Berger isn't the only one out there, tho they do create some beautiful masterpiesces. Yes I guess in theory you could create your own lamp if the wick/stone fits correctly - which also means the wick fitting the depth of the container. The one thing to remember is that to get a proper wick fragrance flow initially you'll have to fill the bottle more than half full and nor more than 2/3 full - Fuel will be your greatest expense. For some reason after it starts wicking the fuel inside doesn't have to be as high to work. Another way to view purchasing a container is buy something you'll want to display and that blends in with your decor because you're probably not going to be burning it 24/7. Usually 45 minutes is enough to give good fragrance coverage. Here's a few of my collection - as you can see they can be used as decorative accessories.
