I've grown them fine indoors 'til they got too big for my space. Yours looks like it sunburned & yes, planted too deep. They're not succulents at all, their thinnish leaves really do burn as you learned. These plants need abundant watering, since they're tropical. I'd make sure the soil is fast draining, add a pebble tray & to keep such color, give it maximum light you can but w/ GRADUAL exposure so as not to burn it again.

Hi folks, we had our stains refinished by a guy who seemingly specializes in just this type of work. He used minwax Kona. What is disappointing is that the entire stain looks like a dark brown paint. We understand that Kona is dark but still expected to see wood grain and some oak character come through. I watched him sand off the top layer of old poly, but I wonder if this wasn’t done properly (or just wanted sanded down enough). I will post pictures shortly but again, just looks like a dark brown paint. Contractor is swearing up and down that he sanded and broke the poly and that this is the way that Kona looks.

Brown Blades Down Low. AKA BBDL. :-) So far, it seems the grass is healthy, but the grass is developing browner blades in the lower sections. This is not a disease. It's not a problem. It's totally natural as the grass grows in. Mine has it too, every late spring. While this could be the sign of a very early fungal infection, I don't see any other signs of it at this moment. It's much simpler than that. The grass looks too young to stand up fully just yet, but don't mow shorter. Longer mows will encourage slightly thinner grass right now, but longer roots on it. I'd accept the trade-off. " planted grass this Spring " Make sure to keep an eye on it, just like you're doing, as it's likely to need some extra care and watering this summer as things heat up. So far, you're doing really well but the harder periods are still coming...

That looks like finish that has been damaged, possibly by moisture sitting there at some point, or through abrasion from things being repeatedly slid across that surface, like canned goods. It's not structural and it's not "wood rot." You could: 1. Take a sander to it and refinish it. 2. Cover it with some innocuous contact paper. 3. Ignore it and forget about it. Personally, I'd go for number 3....
