H.Kuska comment. I am aware of the microbe breakdown products, but I am not aware of any references that state that the thermal breakdown is similar. The melting point of glyphosate is nearly 230 degrees C. That would be nearly 446 degrees F. This is the main thermal paper that I have been able to find so far. Unfortunately it does not identify the glyphosate decomposition products. Howver, it appears to me that very little glyphosate would actually decompose in normal hosehold use. The first observed decomposition product is: "By analyzing the infrared spectrum of the sample which is processed by rising temperature to 260 C at the heating rate of 6 C min-1, the most possible group loss in this stage may be methylene. Moreover, the mass loss in the first stage by TGA is in accordance with the mass loss of a group of methylene in the molecular of glyphosate." Then. "With the temperature increased, the second stage appeared the exothermic peak after a smaller main endothermic peak, and the lost mass had continued, which indicated that this stage might occur burning phase, thus exothermic phenomenon occurred. By analyzing the infrared spectrum of the sample which is processed by rising temperature to 360 C at the heating rate of 6 Cmin-1, the most possible group loss in this stage may be the group of carbonyl. Moreover, the mass loss in the second stage by TGA is in accordance with the mass loss of a carbonyl in the molecular of glyphosate." I would stay right where I am here in Nova Scotia. I have the ocean right in front of me, the woods behind me and only one neighbor that can see my house without binoculars. I love that I can go for long walks in the woods and not be afraid of anything more than a big black bear. I love that I can jump in the car with the neighbor kids or grandsons and be at the beach swimming at a nice sandy beach within 15 minutes. I can walk down my lane and go to the beach to collect rocks or shells. When summer vacation time comes I always want to drive around Nova Scotia, sometimes up to Sussex, New Brunswick to go to Corn Hill Nursery, but for the most part I want to stay here. I love the trips to the Annapolis Valley and south shore, so much to see/sea. I have driven across this grand country twice by car, a long, long journey both times. Been right to Jasper in Alberta and out to Grand Cashe, beautiful area, but no ocean, gotta be near the water, it is the pisces in me I think.. Never been to the Rock, Newfoundland, but have intentions of going there someday. Flew out to Calgary last summer and was enchanted with the city, I hate cities for the most part but this place really caught my eye. My son lives there so I can see going out there again, it was a beautiful trip. If I had to change anything it would be the weather right now, bitter cold, I don't care for that. Thanks again Keith. I have to say I just got it a couple weeks ago and am astounded that a youngster graft was so full, but one thing I also see is some red in the leaves. I can't speak about how well it's going to do yet, as it's just a baby and only in the ground a couple weeks which is why I'd love to see an update on your old post with a photo of yours now and how it's done this summer when you have time. I'm not exactly sure how to answer that.I think most people would say they prefer the first life you describe but I don't think anyone ever really has that.Life is filled with joys and sorrows.Sometime more of one than the other,some we can control and others we can't.I think a truly fullfilled life has to have both of those times.I don't believe anyone can go through life completely without some bad times,no matter how happy or fullfilled they are.I also believe that we make our lives how they are by the way we look at things.People who fuss and fret and worry about the bad things that happen are going to be discontent with their lives.I'm a firm believer in making the best of everything that is good and try not to cry or worry about the things that aren't.Especially the things we can't do anything about.
