Duet 9250 dryer noise level

Hello,

I am very happy with the Duet pair that I bought. The washer (9400 model) is so quiet when working that I can keep the door open to the laundry room (which is next to the family room and kitchen) and we really have to listen to hear something. However, it is causing hammer type noises with my pipes.

The dryer is good, but...it is noisy. I don't know how to describe it, but the next to the washer, it is quite loud. I initially had a problem with keeping the door closed - it would just pop open on its own. I finally had a good look and noticed a bolt/screw on the door that hadn't been screwed in deep enough. I got DH to screw it in and then it stopped popping open. But when I turn on the dryer, it is loud - kind of like a swooshing noise - sounds like it could be from the back where dryer joins the vent tubing. Is this possible? Generally, what do you think of the noise your dryer makes? If it doesn't really make a noise, is it louder than your washer?
