Seeking hardware color suggestions ... Maple Cabinets :) ?

Hey TKO friends :)

I move into my new house in 5 DAYS!! Eeek, so exciting. I had the builder forgo putting hardware on my cabinets so that I could pick out my own as I didn't like their options (they had neat ones to choose from, but it had to either be all pulls or all knobs, and I want a bit of both).

I am seeking everyone's opinion/advice on what color to get. I got chrome in my bathroom and it just doesn't look that good to me. I'm leaning towards ORB but hubby thinks it will look odd considering we have brushed nickle hardware everywhere else in the house (lighting, door handles) and we have a chrome faucet.

What do you think? I'm open to pretty much anything, but since they are full overlay, I need to put them on soon since it's about impossible to open my drawers w/out them! :)

Here's the picture of our bathroom. The chrome just looks off to me.

Btw, our granite looks like a mix between Giallo Ornamental and Santa Cecilia (the darker versions of Cecilia).

How about aged silver. It's so pretty. This is a picture of it from our master bathroom. I wanted to stay in the silver family but love ORB so for me this finish offers the best of both worlds.

We have a very similar stain of maple in our kitchen and we went with brushed nickel. It looks very nice IMO. I think ORB would be good too, because the cabinets are a very warm tone. It all depends on what you like, and perhaps also on what hardware you find that you really like.

My new kitchen is pretty close to what you are getting. I've got Maple Shaker cabs with Verde Peacock granite. Ive also got stainless appliances. Here is the hardware I went with. They're brushed nickel. They're from the Jeffrey Alexander Milan collection. Knobs: Pulls: And here's a shot showing both pulls and knobs and the verde peacock granite! Hope this helps!

Thanks karen belle, had same experience with BM site..they need to revamp. I called the BM rep that came to my home & gave color suggestions last year. She suggested painting trim classic gray & walls london fog, living with it, & see if that helps. If my cabinets still bother me, I would be that much closer to having part of the project done. She also said clients in her area are taking their cabinet doors to automotive detail shops & having them sprayed..I may check into pricing on that just in case. & thank you for spending the time helping with my dilemma:)

Just enough of a slightly darker stain to cut the "rawness" of clear maple (which would fade anyway without a little bit of stain.) We're sort of traditional - but with very contemporary Shaker cabinets, without any ornamentation.

I'm considering doing the exact same "facelift" for our kitchen! I kept going back and forth about trying a gray on the lowers to blend in with our walls, but after lots of reading, houzz picture surfing, etc. I've decided that you really can't go wrong with all white! It always brightens up the kitchen and looks like it could make yours feel bigger, too. Plus, there are endless shades of white (recommend semi-gloss for cabinets) paint, so you can choose one that really coordinates well with your counter. As far as hardware- what style is the rest of your home? Do you care/want it to match your appliances and/or sink hardware? Personally, I've really been digging matte black kitchen hardware lately, but I have a feeling that then I'd want to swap out our stainless sink faucet, RO, etc. and I'm trying to keep it cheap! Oh, I like Lukkiirish's pulls! They look great.

You're right about the chrome, but I think it's the shininess that doesn't go with the cabinet finish more than the color.

ORB should be fine, but you don't want your husband to think your new house looks weird.

Maple itself has a pinky cast to it, and that comes through even in your stained ones. That's why a warm bronze tone looks good. But contrast is good too!

Have you tried brushed nickel? Don't worry about the faucet. It has enough pride of place to stand on its own.

If you see this, alexandra_marie, please let me know what you decided! My cabinets are a similar color and are 16 years old and still don't have knobs and pulls because I can't decide! (I know I sound crazy.)
