I saw you just posted on the daily picture thread. We've been missing you! How about an update on how you have been?

I've been in a slump since March. Trying to make myself do things I did before then. Spent as much time at the river/cabin as I could this past summer. The road we used to get there was under water a lot, due to the rains and them letting water out of the Gavins Point Dam. It was at it's max, and they needed to let some out before this years thaw.
Found my mom a new Sheltie from a rescue in Kansas. Jenni is 8 years old, and just a perfect match for mom. She doesn't bark unless someone comes to the door. If then.
She really enjoys her company, and Jenni is very happy to be there.
My daughter (Nate's mom) has been living with me since October. Things weren't going so well at her home, with hubby. His drinking for one, and not going back to work. He finally went back a month ago.

Just want spring to get here, so I can go back up to the cabin. I hate winter.

I can understand hating winter, but since it brought you back here, I kinda like it.

You mentioned the MRI's Does your Dr or medical center use Pet Scan? They do here as it is not as hard on some of the organs,like liver etc. and it shows more cancer. DH is getting ready to do his third one. But he also gets checked for bladder cancer. His other cancer seems to be in remission at this time. He just had a Ritouxin treatment, again not as hard as some of the other drugs he has had. I do wish you the best and the water therapy is great. They use it here also, I think. Marie

My deepest sympathies to all of Nathan's family. This is so unbearably sad & tragic, but he is now out of pain and at peace. I will be keeping you all in special thoughts & prayers. May your happy memories of Nate bring you all great comfort. He sounded like a wonderful young man.

Glad that you are home safe and sound! Hopefully your luggage gets there soon! Anxious to see pics. Dean had his luggage delievered after they lost it coming from Germany or maybe Slavokia...who knows. They called at 11:30 one night and said they would be passing through about 12:30AM to drop it off!!!! I thought that was rude, but I did wait up for it.

Noocha--I assure you, I did not make my comments based solely on the news of this week. This is not a new problem and I've been following it for many years. I've read a great deal on the situation, seen many interviews with former FLDS wives who were able to 'escape'. I've seen an interview with a woman who took in some of the abandoned boys, and who recounted the problems they had learning to live in normal society. I watched the entire Warren Jeff's trial. It is true, that none of us (I hope) have been personally involved--but you don't have to live on one of these compounds to recognize the absolute wrongness of what's happening there. Do not discount what you've seen and heard, just because it came from the media. In this case, it appears the truth is actually even worse than you can imagine just from the news reports. I so hope that women being subjected to this terrible lifestyle everywhere, get help.

Thanks for the update! Glad that your Mom has a dog now and it's great that you adopted from a rescue. Sorry about Nate's Mom and Dad... I can't imagine how hard it must have been losing Nate. Hope they can work through their problems.

Hope Spring gets here soon for all of us. Hang in there.
