Robert Heinlein said that writing was a job, and like any other job, you had to have set goals and work every day whether you wanted to or not, for more hours each day than most other jobs required. I've forgotten how many books he wrote, but I've often contemplated that he had made a master outline which included details of each book in his series of sci-fi books *years* before they were actually written. Oppositely, most other authors that I enjoy, have stated that they write one book at a time and usually only have the vaguest outline in mind at the beginning, letting the story develop as it is written. I've also read that some authors describe the act of writing as "having a monkey on your back" or having an addiction where the daily agonies of unsuccess were far outwieghed by the momentary but glorious thrill of the occasional success. Tellya true, Michael: you write; I'll stick with the reading.

Either way would work, but I'd favor waiting and having a hole dug and ready at the new place. Get as big a root ball as you can, soak the root ball right after you dig it with a garden hose, and transport the bamboo inside your vehicle so the leaves don't get wind-burned. Like any planting, make sure the hole has been watered. If the new location is one where it is protected from full sun (at least for several days) that would be a plus. Good luck.

The easiest thing to do is to go down to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy one. Insinkerator is widely available and works perfectly for right around $60. Amazon is less if that works better for you. When you buy this, you need all these parts: The plug you see here goes into the wall under the sink. The plug on your GD plugs into the box. The tubing is attached to the underside of the button. The kit comes with 3 different buttons: chrome, white, and satin nickel. You use one and toss the other two. If you need a different color/finish, that's when you buy the ones you see being sold as single units. You'll love having this thing!!

Nikkidan, There is also marble, soapstone, and a couple of others that some here on GW have used such as cement, stainless steel, and even copper. Just the large number of choices makes it kind of overwhelming at times, let alone that each one has its own unique qualities. Maybe start with thinking about what you have now and what you don't want. Think about what your budget is and what your might look good with your cabinets. I think many people do granite, which I found to have a lot of earth tones in them. Granite does hold up to many of the kitchen issues like heat, staining, etc.... I found on GW that there were many willing to use soapstone and marble too. One reason I did not look at laminate or corian was because I thought you could not use an undermount sink with them, but I could be wrong there. Maybe find some inspiration photos on line or on GW finished kitchens or think about what you like in your family/friends kitchens. I used quartz, which is somewhat heat sensitive, so no pots right off the heat. I loved marble, but for resale mostly, decided to choose between granite and quartz. Good luck and have fun with the quest for your countertop. Maybe post a pic of some of your other parts of the kitchen such as cabinets and flooring.
