Thanks for your quick responses. I'm excited as I think I'll put the blackberries in now. The bed is 8" tall and about 8 feet long by 4 feet wide, approximately. I did go to the lasagna link you gave to me.--Lots of good info. there too. Don't be jealous, mustard seeds, because although we have no snow, we have searing heat for months on end with nasty humidity. Also, currently, we're in the worst drought experienced in this area since the 1950's. We ended 2008 at less than half of our normal rainfall and until today, we only had 1/4" for the entire month of January. We may get rain tonight/tomorrow though. :-) Thanks again!!!!

In lasagna gardening, there is rarely any heat because of the spread of the organics over an area. To get heat from decomposition, one would need a bit more volume - something 12 to 18 inches high will simply 'cold' compost. I've planted in lasagna beds immediately after they were done. I do add a bit of soil around the roots of the plant, but just enough to buffer the roots. I have so little soil which is available to me. Lots of rocks, no soil. Your plants will actually settle in with the bed. I have never had plants end up half out of the ground as Lee states. Maybe we are doing things differently... Not the best of pictures, but the garden up against the house was just done last year, and this picture was taken a couple of months after it was in place. I immediately planted lilies, phlox paniculata, echinacea, digitalis, hydrangea, mulleins, etc. No ill effect! Nothing popping back out of the ground/bed.

Very similar to Bretzel rolls. I sure would get that dough under refrigeration ASAP! The danger is that they will over rise, you pill punch down to shape and they may get sour or there may not be enough sugar left to rise them again. At any rate they will taste "over proofed". Linda C

I'm with those who cook them about an hour...and I di it at 350 for 30 minutes or so flip them, sauce them, jack up thet emp to 425...bake for 15 minutes flip ands auce again. The only expection siw hen I use a honey based sauce and then I just sauce about 15 minutes before they are done. As you can see by all the answers, it's not a demanding food! LOL! If they are brown enough, they are done! And I don't do the "drumettes" bit, I just fold up the whole wing and bake. Linda C
