Deceiving out that right now, bright, sunny, but windy and cold!

YES on the garlic. It's probably a good thing we don't live there because I can eat more than my share of good garlic. There's very few things that DH and I don't think that adding garlic to makes them taste better! We visited Gilroy several years ago before the DS and DIL moved out here. They took us to Gilroy to see the "Garlic Capital" and I thought the town was quite a nice place.

Hi Gina...it's NOT in bad taste to see if folks will be bringing certain plants they are looking for. It certainly isn't a secret. I think folks are anxious for people to get things they are looking for at a swap. In fact, some folks set up trades via email beforehand that are separate from the group swap - and put those plants in their cars before the actual big swap begins. (I think Hostalavista and Michigan Betty do that with certain hostas since they are both collectors) I will be bringing some pots of hardy crainsbill geraniums to the swap. Time (spring) will tell me which ones...later on. In fact, I am hoping someone has Achillea Taygeta. I would LOVE a division of that plant. Sounds like there will be quite a few folks bringing their left over winter sown plants for swapping!! Fun! Think sunshine!.......Beverly

Hi folks... I had a blast today at the swap. It was great fun to see so many long time friends and make some new gardening friends too. We had over 100 people and over 2000 plants for sharing. Awesome! At our first swap in 2001 there were 28 people... it's was so fun to see some of those same people at the swap today. Thanks to everyone for coming with such a kind and sharing heart - that's what it is all about. Everyone seemed to go home with lots of new plants. :-) Murray and I came home with some tomatoes, sedums, lillies, coneflowers and many more. Thanks so much. Of course, thanks to folks for bringing a wonderful array of tastey potluck food! I say this every year... gardeners sure can cook and bake. Thanks to folks that donated door prizes. We always get such a neat array of goodies to choose from One last thanks to everyone who came with a kind generosity of spirit. Good gardening to you all! Beverly

Susan, he got home the first time around 11:45 or so, I had just fallen asleep. He came home to change for bowling. After bowling they went to the girl's home who he asked to go with him to the prom (she said she couldn't afford to go) for smores, a bonfire and a movie. But apparently they were all too tired for the movie and it was too stormy for the bonfire so they all nearly fell asleep in front of their fireplace and ate smores. They finally decided to drive home before they got too tired to drive. Oh, and they only spent an hour or two at the dance itself. He didn't really dance, said not very many were and the ones who did were more like grinding on each other than dancing. They had gone to the Cheesecake factory for dinner first. It's in Louisville and that's why he left early. He had fun, I'm so glad. He got home the last time at 3:48 am. I sleep on the loveseat so he woke me up when he came in and of course I looked right at the clock. lol. I've been at work all day so only just now got the lowdown. ( :

It is -11 right this minute here in central Indiana, going to be worse tomorrow. This was our high for today.

Was -18 this morning and windy. Last nights wind chill was almost a -60 with all sorts of warnings. Now a -9 and still very cold due the winds we are getting.
I did go over to the PO to pick up mail as I did not go out Sat or Sun. Roads still icy

Glenda, your weather sounds like ours (I'm on the NC coast). Tomorrow is forecast to be in the 20's, then maybe up to 40 on Wed. By Sat, it's supposed to be 79! Roller coaster for sure!

After lounging all day and reading... I decided I need some fresh air, and movement. Went for a walk.

22 when I returned (same as when I left) and it was mighty invigorating. :)

It's all in the clothes you wear outside.

Afternoons have been in the 70s all week. With the 7 and 4 year old grandsons visiting, it is nice to have the patio door open so they can play in the yard.
