It's not getting old it's getting cluttered in your mind. Too much info and trivial stuff. I bought two things of forever stamps a couple of weeks ago ( I think they had flags on them) cleaned off my desk but they are stuck in a corner somewhere.

Don't feel so bad Minnie. I just found last years Christmas stamps this Christmas. I got so behind last year, I never sent out cards. It was a nice find!

I know I lost a book of Forever stamps about a year ago. Drove to Post Office, bought them, came home, UTL (Unable to locate). Looked in car, all over house, even went back to Post Office. Nothing. Maybe someday I'll get a pleasant surprise. They are "forvever" stamps, anyway.

Very funny, it was 17 here this morning. I love the cold & so does the dogs. My big one is a great pyreness who is over 100 lbs & has 3 coats of long white hair so this is his kind of weather. I would forget my head if it was not attached.

The alternative to getting old is.......dying.

I lost one of our chargeable phones for our house several months ago. I'm thinking it got thrown out with the newspapers since I'm really bad about putting them back in the charger stand. My biggest fear though is that I will find it in the freezer one day or some totally strange place!

you don't know how hard i'm loling!i have this litany now before leaving the house...keys, purse, phone, jacket, and glasses...and i double check the keys so i'm not locked out!

I try and put everything out the night before. But why did I think I would be thinking better at night then during the day.

Lose my phone so often. I try to be very mindful of where I put it down. But it is generally in a pocket and Lord help me I have not washed it yet. But I have lost it and found it in the bottom of a sticky cooler. End of that.

mboston, I have thrown my tv remote out with the newspapers. I know that's where it went.

I get hives just hearing these stories and thinking about what I will lose in 2012.

You aren't alone, Georgie - I make lists of things I need, go buy them and spend the next week trying to find where I stored them. BTW, I think it's perfectly sane to store your gloves in your hat!

I purchase potted plants, tote them home, place them in my yard, still in their pots, until I can get them in the ground. Sometimes I just sit and STARE at where I THOUGHT I set a particular plant down, only to finally remember - I've already planted it in the ground.

I could go on and on, but you now know that the forgetful old lady lives in all our homes!

You have made me feel better. Some days are worse than others. I need more sleep, I think. My short term memory is so bad. Husband's is too. He let the dog out and forgot to let him back in. I heard him bark and thought he was in the other room. He was only out 15 minutes but still...A lot of responsibility taking care of six pets. I have two Purina ONE bins I got years ago with food in them. I have them labeled..cat food/ dog food now, because one day I was wondering why the dogs loved their food so much..Yeah..cat food, and they don't even look the same.

Georgie... here I am in a little one bedroom apartment... and I am loosing stuff constantly!

You'll hear me saying "off, off, off, off."
That's me checking that every gas stove burner is turned off. Every day. Even if I haven't even cooked anything.

(Stems from about 2 years ago when I was halfway to work and couldn't recall if I'd turned a burner off. Had to call a neighbor and ask her to check for me.)

At Krogers the other day someone called my name and I turned to see who it was. I didn't recognize the young lady who immediately gave me a bear hug as she told me her name. We were family friends long ago and she and my DD are the same age, although I had not seen her for many years.

I have to wonder though, since she recognized me, did I really look like this, way back then?
