cleaning and condensing

I multi-tasked this morning. I had a sudden craving for waffles. The donkey from Shrek kept coming to mind while I was making them.....

I opened the cupboard to get my Bisquick mix (I love the waffles the mix makes), and realized I had way too many boxes of flavoured teas in the cupboard. While I mixed the batter and waited for my waffle iron to heat, I grabbed a big Tupperware container and got all the teas but one box to fit in it. Then I realized I had two jars of instant coffee. I don't drink the stuff, so why do I have TWO? I use it for my frosting when I make my mocha cake. I have some cool jars so I put both jars of coffee into one. Sheesh! I added space.... Oh look! Two containers of Hershey's cocoa are in the cupboard. Another storage jar was filled with them. Next thing I know one cupboard is 1/2 empty and I have a ton of containers for the recycling bin.

All the while I'm doing this, I'm making waffles, then eating some.

Found some Golden Crisco in the fridge. Off to make butter tarts........

I have been going through cabinets, boxes, storage etc and now have several big boxes to donate and much more space to store more of my stuff.

I have been going through stuff for a long time now. It makes cleaning much easier. The Lutheran Gently Used Store really likes to see me coming. LOL

It's up at top and you have to remove the upper grill. Use a hose type vacuum to clean the side away from the fan. the right side ( The fan pulls air through the condenser ) There a several videos on YouTube showing how to do it. Here is a link that might be useful: Cleaning Subzero Condenser

Thank you weedmeister. Upon your advice, I returned to said breaker and determined a slight "catch" half way across, which, with greater force to over come, switched the breaker fully "off" thus allowing switch to fully "on". Went back upstairs (fridge control on off), switched from back up grounded circuit to dedicated refrigerator circuit and Voila! Control panel 3 second hold returns it to full run. We have electricity again. I truly appreciate your help: might you glance at my second post of the day in HVAC forum too?

Thanks for your feedback, even though it had bad news. These windows are in a house I bought 9 months ago. It was the realtor who said I could have them cleaned. So no, I don't know who the manufacturer is. I looked all around the window for a brand stamp or something similar, but didn't find one. Is there anyway to find out who the manufacturer is/was? Other than the condensation, they look fairly new. These picture windows are approx. five feet wide and 3.5 feet high. What would replacing the IGU portionof each one cost? I'm going to take baby steps throughout the house. First finish the kitchen. Then go through the hall closet which has become a free for all that nobody knows where to put. There's no linens in the linen closet.... Drawers and closets are next after that. I want to have a yard sale this summer. I can get rid of a lot of stuff. I've got boxes in my storage corner in the basement I haven't seen in 16 years since we moved in. I don't think I need whats in them anymore.

I think that I have about 47 towels ...

... anybody want some?

Most of them don't get used much around here.

The mice like them for bedding.

Caught one in the back porch, about three weeks ago, and one in a trap in the kitchen floor.

Then, after no action for a while, a couple in a drawer in the kitchen cabinet, on some towels.

No action again, recently. But the cats love me for bringing such nice treats!

And I'll be washing the towels thoroughly, as I'm aware of the danger of serious illness that deer mice can transmit, and I'm pretty sure that's what they are.

ole joyful ... who, after some pitching and consolidating, is able to see more floor, these days. More desktop (real desk, that is), too.

I keep avoiding my desk. I shouldn't. I could get a lot more done in my office if I would just straighten it up. But the laptop is in there. And on the laptop is my Adobe CS5 and the internet. The pull of those two things is just too strong. I'm amazed sometimes, that I can get out of the room at all!

OJ, why not donate some of those towels to a 2nd hand store? I'm sure someone could use them.

Ever since Hubs was in the Hosp, last month, we are being strongly encouraged to find an APT either on the first floor or in a BLDG with an elevator. I have our name on top of the list for an empty one, in just about every APT BLDG in the area, Hopefully one will open up by spring. So starting next week, I'll start going through store rooms, closets and drawers, to either pack things we want but can get along without until the move or toss if not needed. When we moved here 6 yrs ago, I did some HUGE downsizing the whole summer before, when we were still in our home with a double garage, filled with many, many un-needed stuff.

It's never too early for spring cleaning. Given some of the crappy weather heading across the land, it's something to do inside at our own pace rather than sitting and watching the snow. Mentally I always feel better when I can accomplish 'something'. Doesn't matter big or little job - it's still better than just sitting around. Before you know it - you've succeeded. Punch up some happy tunes and you are off!

I had my box challenge - helped me kick start myself again. I'm still at it too.
