The weather, brrr!

It's 21ÃÂº right now and I have to go shopping and pump gas. I really hate cold weather. 60% chance of snow tomorrow. Got to work tomorrow, of course....couldn't have snowed today.

I was able to get yesterday's work done on Monday, today's work done yesterday and finished up most all of tomorrows's stuff today. With the let up in the temps, we'll get a little bit of snow - no big deal here, probably 2"-3" while other parts of the state could see a half foot or more. So the bulk of the work I have left is a conference call, reporting and one or two minor things that can wait until next week in a worst case scenario. Stopped at the grocery store.... let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!

I have a cat with cabin fever. she's playing with a scrap of paper on the steps. Cheap toys anyway! Now she's embarrassed... I saw her.

Warm front through here now. 10Â°. Actually it's fairly nice out there. No wind.... yet. But it'll be dropping in temps and the winds will increase in the next couple of days.

I do NOT like getting this fluffy white stuff on top of all this ice though. I do NOT like that... do NOT like that at all.... very bad memories of doing the dogfish down a hill...

Hi Pete ~ I am in Eldora, and I WANT TO PLAY IN THE DIRT!!!! We are forecasted for 6 more days of this! What hapened to those warm days in April? I think May and April got themselves confused with each other. Sure wish Ol' Man Rain would take his nap, LoL. Hey, might you be interested in a local trade sometime? It sure would be nice to meet a local gardener :-). Are you going to the Moris swap next month? This will be my 2nd year. I am looking so forward to it. I have 2 plants of Purple Heart growing very good OUTDOORS year 'round. I live in Zone 8, the Western part of the Puget Sound Area in Washington State. Last January we had over 3 weeks of 10* to 25* F. weather. BRRR. There was nothing left of the plants when the snow melted off. Looked like they had been melted. I did not have any mulch over them. And they are growing in a graveled area of our water pond 'scaping. This Spring they came back like gang busters. This Summer they got up to about 18" high and 36" in diameter. They are now starting to die back from the frosty nights. They sure are a pretty plant. And are real easy to get new starts from. Happy Pondering. Claude

Today in the North Houston area it is currently 28 and heavy clouds and brisk wind so a very chilly wind chill out there. Yesterday our water had frozen at the outside supply line so my husband has put heavy packing blankets over it and a drop light to keep it from freezing out there again. Today no problem we have water. And I was keeping it at a little dripping drizzle. Since we are still learning the quirks of this house now that we know about the outside supply we will be buying some heat tape for it for next year. This stuff is sure killing my joints!

You guys are too much. What a brigade to have on my side. Thank you! And I'd love to get paid the gazillions of dollars you talk about. But, gone are the days where I could spend hours in the lab, playing with sugar. Not to mention, the low-carb lifestyle has taken the fun out of it for many decorators. David, the paint fumes might've had something to do with this. It was bitterly cold the days we spent painting Sam's bedroom, and so the windows were kept closed. It took 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint to cover up the red walls. So we inhaled a lot of fumes - but, we were giggling through the entire process. We still are. Monique, Holy Merde! I'm bummed that Ace of Cakes never replied. Granted they must get tons of emails daily. And yours is probably one of many that gets lost in the shuffle. Regardless, I'm speechless. All I can say is Thank You for doing this for me ... and I love you man! Heck, at one time, I'd have gladly doused my ears with BBQ sauce and jumped in the ring with Mike Tyson for the chance of spending an afternoon at Duff's bakery. But now, you are my new hero. The snowmen are actually easy enough for a child to do. You just roll the fondant into small balls (1" - 3/4" - 1/2" in diameter), skewer all three balls of fondant and spritz lighty with water, then roll in granulated sugar. I made chocolate arms for these little characters, but I waited too long, and the fondant dried up, making it impossible to stick the arms into the snowmen. Tricia, would it help if I told you, I only had one cupcake? I gave away the rest to my daughter and her friends. I can't understand how you can still be suffering. I thought the painful problem with you jaw was a thing of the past. I'm sorry to hear you're still afflicted by it. Oh, and Terri, I never sleep. That's how I get things done. Teresa, I've never checked out Etsy. But now that you've piqued my curiosity, I'll have to look into it. Thank you! We are having a heat wave--75. I had to water with the hose today. We desperately need rain in California. I'm sorry for all of you struggling with severe weather. Please be careful.

This morning I babysat, then got my hair cut and colored and got my passport photo taken. Now I am in the house for the duration of the storm.

Hi Kathleeen, I haven't seen your posts lately. Miss your "Good Morning's". It's just so cold and miserable everywhere. Hope you don't have a problem getting to work. One winter my sister in IN, who's an RN, couldn't get out and they sent someone equipped to pick her up. She was told to take a few days of clothes/supplies--just in case. I think she stayed 3 days.

-3Â°C here and has snowed every day since Saturday. Just glad we didn't get it all in one day! The only nice thing is that it's cold enough to keep the snow looking nice instead of brown slop. That is to come, I'm sure.

14 below with a wind chill of about 30 below. Weather person recommended all stay inside as much as possible.

Brrr! Except socks12345, you all are making me cold! It's supposed to be 60 here during the days, but has barely been 50 because of the icky fog. Haven't seen the sun in 3 days, just solid dreary grey.

I want to know what part of Cali is 75? I think we're all headed there for winter;-)
