I would not try to encourage the sneezing; it might cause more harm than good.

Harry had a similar problem. After sneezing for severeal hours I saw a huge chunk of "wood" blocking his nostril. No way was it coming out on its own. He was in a lot of stress. Each time he sneezed the material was cutting his sinuses.

I took him to the vet. They had to sedate him to remove it. No harm was done, and we have no idea how it got the 2" plus chunk of cattail reed lodged in his nostril without cutting it open.

Give Paulie a hug, and take him to his favorite vet.

I dropped some finely shredded cheese on the floor. I'm thinking that she snorted some up her little nose. Right now she is on my lap trying to go to sleep. I'm gonna just watch her a moment and see what happens.

Call the vet now and see what they say. I think dogs sneeze when you blow in their face, but as others said-maybe it would do more harm than good.

Poor thing! She is a pug too, isn't she? Something that makes a pug snort even more?!?! It doesn't seem possible. One time Ruby snorked up a paper dot (you know, from the hole punch). It molded itself to the inside of her nose and she did not like that one bit! But she wouldn't even let me near her face.

We had to make a trip to the vet. He misted some water in her nose, and had made a horrendously wet sneeze and out it came ROFL! He said that wasn't the point of the mist, he was trying to moisten the paper so he could grab it with tweezers without it sticking to her.

I hope everything turns out okay!

Darn! She napped restfully without snorting. Now she woke up and started it again. But, she will go long intervals without snorting. The Vet was gone for the day on an emergency. (Only vet in town, and he works with farm animals too.)

Now I'm stuck with her snorting until tomorrow. I will take her in tomorrow for sure.

Now I'm wondering if this is Pug Asthma I've read about.

OMG! I'm in a panic she is still making that sound and I feel so helpless. She is not in distress, but seems irritated by this snorting thing.

It's gonna be a long night. My poor Baby!

Try stroking her neck to make her swallow. Sometimes the snorting thing is a reverse sneeze - my dog does it. Hold her nose pointing up and stroke her throat till you feel a swallow. I hope this helps you.

Sorry, hold UNDER her mouth so that her nose points up and stroke her neck till you feel a swallow. Let us know how she is doing.

I have messaged her nostrils and stroked her throat, nothing seems to help. She is asleep again and doesn't seem to have a problem while she is asleep. This is weird.

Of course she is resting fine, I'm awake and worrying. LOL!

Can you get her to the vet today, before the weekend?

So far, She hasn't been snorting this morning, but she hasn't been to active. I'm still watching her closely.
