Thanks for the AHRI information tigerdunes. I have looked it up myself as well and understand it better than my previous question. The XV80(80K BTU) and XR16(3 Ton) yield: Cooling = 34400 BTU/h, 12.50 EER, 15.00 SEER Heating (47F) = 32600 BTU/h, 9.00 HSPF COP[avg] = HSPF x 1055 J/BTU ÷ 3600 J/Watt-h = 0.293 HSPF COP[avg] = 0.293 x 9.00 = ~2.64 However this 2.64 COP[avg] is for the heat pump across a mock season, including its worst performance periods. What I am trying to do is use the heat pump in its peak performance spectrum (i.e. above ~40F). Even still the COP[avg] of 2.64 is close to the COP[unit cost point] of 2.82, which is needed to be cost effective on a unit basis, provided I calculated it correctly. Have I got that right?

BY me being a female, I can't really explain it, but these are the items he told me he would need: 50 ft two underground wire, 25 ft condure pipes, and 5 three quarter elbows.I think I need to find someone else. First they said they was going to run the wire from the outside of the house along the wall near the ground. I told them I didn't want that. Their cost for doing this is $125.00. I do they you'll for your advice.

The vast majority of the time, adding a heating unit to an existing system or ductwork isn't an issue at all. If any problems come up, your HVAC company can likely add any ducts needed if they do custom ductwork. Twintech Heating & Cooling https://twintechheating.ca/

A lower price doesn't necessarily mean the installer is "unskilled" labor. Define unskilled Kevin. A 20 something or 30 something kid doing the work how much experience could they have? You aren't going to attract, let alone attain skilled techs paying someone $10 or even $15 an hour. That's typically what most are paid starting out and dangling a carrot of promising bigger money later? So if you're promising bigger money later to your "new" upcoming skilled labor force... You have a big problem coming sooner than you think. We haven't even started talking about overhead costs of the company. A small biz, 1 man shop like me has annual costs... expenses, overhead whatever you want to call it of typically upwards of $50,000 a year sometimes as high as $80,000 (these expenses contain "no fluff" like office space rental and such.) making a mere $2,000 per system? LOL. You simply do not know the value of a dollar. Nor do you understand the cylical nature of the HVAC business. You'd be out of business in less than a couple of years. Shh Ray, that's a big secret when that bargain system breaks. Not really a secret I'm being mischeivious sitting here drinking my coffee of a morning. Reading keyboard warrior nonsense. Overhead: Advertising. You see those flashy ads on TV of the big AC companies? You won't get $3500 install from them. How about the phone book? Full page ads by all the big companies? Advertising is big business just like HVAC is. Kevin run an experiment: Call up 20 HVAC companies in your area to get bids. The only requirement is that the companies you call give you a bid on paper with company letterhead and State licensing information. Snap pictures of those quotes paste them here for the world to see. Prices scribble on paper scraps or napkins don't count. If the OP is up to the challenge, feel free to join in on the "fun". We're going to call those companies that don't pay those high advertising costs to avoid that high price. Ok, please tell me how you are going to find them?
