The O.L. has been a problem but I'm not sure they are THE problem. I've said it before and I will say it again... Willie Parker is NOT the answer for the smash mouth style of football that the Steelers play because he has to rely on finese and speed rather than brute power and punishing his opponents. I'm also baffled at how BAD he has played on the road comparing to his play at Heinz Field.... A measly 45 yds/game on the road vs. 128 @ home!!! The first drive of that "game" was a perfect example of how this season has been going for this offense. After running the ball for almost no gain on first and second down, we are faced with 3rd and LONGGGGG where their defense clearly knows it's going to be a passing play and that's often a formula for disaster and/or failure. On the defensive side, it is pretty obvious that all our cornerbacks pretty much STINK. Townsend, McFadden, Taylor, Clark all have their moments but during the course of a 60 minute game, they all are pretty much stinky!!! LOL! I was hoping this glaring problem would be addressed during last off-season... obviously, it was not. One last rant... is it just me, or does our beloved coach seem a little out of it lately??? I just get the feeling that his heart is not into it anymore and next year we'll have our third coach in the last 3 decades. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I am blessed with no work today, but got up early to put wood in the stove. As I came downstairs, the front room was wall to wall people !! Husband on one couch, son in law on the other, two daughters on the floor, and in between them is the 6 year old grand daughter. The temp inside said 74, so not too bad at all-... I turned on the TV, and the local news said it was -19 degrees outside, with a -39 degree wind chill.. We have about 15 inches or more of snow that has fallen over the last 3 days, mostly from lake effect snows from Lake Michigan, and the roads are thick sheets of ice. It has been too cold for the road salt to work. They have closed the local schools, which hardly ever happens, and quite a few other places too. The high today MAY reach 3 degrees. The last time it was this cold was in 1972... We may not see the 30's untill more than a week from now. Spring seems so far away, maybe it will come early this year, it's real hard to believe it will when it's this brutal outside. Stay warm , and safe... Sandra

If you missed the parade it is on tonight at 9:30...WTAE, I think. Here we go!

Congrats to both teams for getting there, and to the fans for getting there, too, with the crazy weather. I wasn't invested in either team until my brother, who called from Perth, said he was rooting more or less for the Packers out of fondness for our childhood watching Vince Lombardi and his team at the Icebowl. My memory was that we (meaning my Dad and me) were Greenbay fans back then. We lived in Casper, Wyo., so Dallas wasn't even a thought to us. My brother remembers rooting for a variety of teams. Anyway, it was a good game, but so-so commercials. They didn't have a clydesdale commercial, so I'm very disappointed. There was one commercial with a glimpse of the clydesdales, and it was just plain weird. Sally
