This is one of the generics for Topicort cream.

This one is manufactured by Clay-Park Labs, Inc.

I know they say generic brands are supposed be the same as the name brands, but I've found that untrue on occasion, and this is one of them. I have used Topicort (Dexosimetasone), Valisone (Betamethasone Valerate) or a generic for 29 years. What they do in three days has taken this stuff longer than three weeks. Plus, I keep breaking out more while using it. Huh??? That has never happened before. And it also does not stop or even slightly relieve the itching. It contains the same amount of active ingredient as Topicort, so I do not know what other ingredients might be different, but it doesn't work nearly as well as the others.

I know there are some insurances that won't pay for the name brand, but there is one generic I've used that does work as well as Topicort. I don't recall who makes it but where this tube is blue, that one is red.

Sure hope this helps you prevent wasting your hopes and money. I know how annoying and even painful excema can get sometimes.

Mallory, take it back to the pharmacy where you got it from and tell them that! There might even be an ingredient in it that you don't realize you are allergic to. DD has exema and has used Rex-Eme cream with good results and no perscription. If you are interested, email me and I will try to find the info for you to order it. About $8 a tube.

That it's not a psuedosteroid is all the better.

My seed anxiety is more of a "I haven't checked the Exchange pages in hours. Maybe someone offered a SASBE of their entire seed collection right after I last checked!" But I do also have: "How many seeds should I sow? If I sow them all, I'll have way too many seedlings, and no back-up if they all die. But what if germination is low? What if this packet got heated up? What if these are old seeds? How many should I sow!" I don't feel much anxiety about saving and trading regular flower seeds. I do get anxious about my tomato seeds. If they get mislabeled or there's a stray seed, there's no way to tell! I am so careful when I'm fermenting and packaging them, thinking about the shame if I traded with someone and it was the wrong plant. Someone on the Tomato forum is always telling people they should buy commercial seeds, because seeds from traders are always mixed up. But Bakemom's right--commercial seeds can be messed up too, either not germinating, or the wrong plant. Many people post about commercial seed mix-ups with tomatoes-and almost every traded tomato I've grown was correct. So, save those seeds, and who cares about chaff! However, it is good to look up what the seed looks like; sometimes I get a packet in trade where I do know what the seed looks like, and there aren't very many of those amongst the chaff! Do I hate the trader? Nope! It's just good to look it up if you can.

sweet_home, You have the Hoover Windtunnel bagless made by LG Electronics. The vacuum will filter well. You want to make sure that you rinse the filters regularly. The exhaust filter only needs to be rinsed about once a year. If anyone has a reaction while the vacuum is running or shortly afterwards, then you should get something better. If the person emptying the dirt container gets a reaction, then vacuum cleaner, with a bag, should be purchased. Try holding off on a new purchase for a month and see what happens. Make sure that you vacuum everything possible. That means floors, under and behind beds, furniture walls, drapes. About once a month, put the power nozzle on the end of the wand and vacuum the mattresses. If you are one to open windows, it is not a bad idea to brush off the screens occasionally. What happens is, over time, dust and pollen collect of the screens. After a certain time, the dust will dislodge; blowing into your home. If after a while, you find that there is no improvement, it is time for a new bagged canister vacuum cleaner. You said that you do not want to spend alot, so I will start at the lower end. Hoover has the S3670 Windtunnel Anniversary bagged canister. It does very well at filtering, not loud, very easy to roll around on floors. It uses higher filtration "clothlike" vacuum cleaner bags. If you look, you can find it under $250. Miele recently came out with a more economical S2 series canister. Since you only have floors, the S2 Olympus would work for you. It filters well and uses higher filtration "clothlike" bags. You can find it priced at $299. Tacony makes the Riccar and Simplicity canisters. You can find a suction-only canister that will do what you want. The Rainbow, while a very good vacuum cleaner is going to be expensive. You could purchase a used model for alot less. Something the Rainbow owners did not tell you is the vacuum does require maintenance. In order for the Rainbow to hold the dirt without putting it back into the air, the water should be changed about every 15-20 minutes. After the vacuuming it finished, the water basin has to be emptied and rinsed out. The vacuum has to be stored separately , so that the Rainbow can dry out. These are just a few to help get you started.

Although I have never lived in one (and wouldn't want to), I have dealt with any number of HOA's in my capacity as a landscape designer. I have never encountered any issues with them signing off on my designs. Once they have the plan and plant list in hand, they can easily verify that nothing will exceed any height regulations or expand rampantly. I even had one with a 'must have lawn in the front garden' reg (ridiculous when the entry garden area is not much more than 150 square feet!) that agreed to its removal and replanting. I'd try it. Often when presented with a professional design plan, they cave :-) It is true that many HOA's have boards that consist of petty despots who like to throw their weight around to feel important and that some of the regs are arbitrary at best. My ex moved into one like that after we divorced and after butting heads a few times, got himself elected to the board and made the landscaping regulation changes he wanted and thought others would appreciate as well.

Best, $10 for a pillow? Amazing. Tell me, can you sleep laying that flat? I may order the queen high. At that price I may get two. lol I do have to stack my pillows. Thanks Allison! I'm leary about paying high dollar for a pillow in case I don't like it. Local, I need to look on youtube and find out how one can sleep on their side using a neck pillow. Looks awfully uncomfortable to me. lol Annie, I could do it all except drop my ear to the shoulder. All the movement was tense but I could do it. I'll try to make a habit of it. After I do an exercise I have to slowly lift my head and turn it back to normal position or something bad will happen. I think it's my pillows. Last night I spent a good deal of time rearranging them and woke up feeling good, but stil stiff. Is it just me or have you all noticed how hard it is to get a pillow case on a pillow because they are so tight? I used to enjoy changing pillow cases, now I dread it.

Here's the ingredients of your generic from Clay Park Labs and the name brand below. Some of those ingredients may be the same using different names,, ie Lanolin in the generic could be the same as wool alcohols since lanolin does come from sheep. It doesn look like the generic has a few more ingredients not shown on the name brand though?

PkGuy, you're a genius. Just like Tami said, there is an irritant in the Clay-Park brand. I'm allergic to mineral oil and can't use baby oil or bath oil products for that reason. Many who suffer from excema are allergic to oil.

Just spoke with Clay-Park Labs, which is now Perrigo Labs. They're calling my pharmacy to have it replaced for me. Thanx again both of you. I also suggested they remove that ingredient since everyone I ever met with excema are allergic to baby oil (mineral oil). She said she'll convey the message. Hope they do, but it sure won't be my problem any more.

I use, and have for years used a Desoximetasone cream. I call it my anti-itch medicine. I don't think I have excema but lymphedema and dry skin. I used to use Topicort when the insurance would pay for it but didn't notice any difference with the generic. However my Desoximetasone is made by Taro
Pharmaceuticals Inc. The tube looks the same except mine is white with red and black.

Tami, do you know if the Rex-Eme creme helps, at all, with psorisis? My SIL suffers with it and his prescription cremes burn him. He's looking for something to use so that he doesn't need as much of the prescription stuff.

I'm surprised to see lanolin which is a wool oil/alcohol from sheep in there as well. While it is a good moisturizer it is also an allergen for many people. I would have thought more people to be allergic to lanolin than mineral oil.

It was also recommended for DS's acne. I will try to find the brochure tomorrow, but I'm not sure I still have it. I do have a phone number for the person I purchased it from, so if you wanted to, you could call for info.

As I was reading, I thought it sounds great as a face cream, except for all that petroleum where I'm concerned LOL. Sounds really good for my daughter though. She's developed a case of acne in her old age of 30. Poor kid, his niece. Inside the elbows and behind the knees are the hot spots.
