If you think that's silly, go to the paint department and take a look at the ridiculous names given to colors. That marketing strategy works very well. Well, I've seen the ad several times, and I giggle every time I see it. Yes, I thought it was hilarious. And I'll tell you why. If you've been paying attention, you'd probably notice that in the last couple of years we've been bombarded by bull$hit ads from the pharmaceutical companies. So, if I have to sit through 12-15 minutes of advertisements, during my favorite 1-hour long program, I would much rather sit through some light-hearted entertainment, rather than something that reminds me of my own mortality. Life's just too short to analyze anything to death. And watching the turkey ad doesn't make me want to run out and buy the damn turkey, any more than watching a drug company ad makes me want to run out and get Crestor, Plavix, Boniva (Jim joked that the latter sounded like a type of Viagra for women. Hah!), or any of the relentless crap they're trying to make us think we need, in order to live healthy, happy lives, just like the perfect people (actors) portrayed in these ads. Everyone knows (or at least I'd like to believe the majority of consumers know) that these drug pushers' intent is based solely on profits, and not science, or concern for our well being. So, no, there isn't much in this life I take seriously. And to me, television is just an escape. So, break out the popcorn, get the remote control and get out of the way. I want to be entertained. They are so funny. We took our 2 knuckleheads on an outing Thursday, since that is our day off. Having barking dogs is new to us; these 2 bark if they hear anything outside or even at night if I am still up and they hear me in another room. So we went through the drive through with them, and seeing the people inside set them off. The next thing that set them off was a person walking along the side of the road. This person was a good 15 feet away from the edge of the road, but the dogs didn't like it one bit and started barking. I admit it, we called them numbskulls. Is that so wrong? LOL.

Never in a million years would I have thought that looking for a broom would engender 98 (and counting) posts. But I underestimate the TKO! Keeping up with it as it goes is fascinating and interesting and fun. But reading the whole thing AFTER reading the Widgets thread...priceless. And BTW, I am going to buy a new broom...or three...now after reading that thread. And will join the posts that said "this thread is costing me money" :) But no widgets; they're so out of fashion now and would affect my resale.
