Maui has had voggy weather since yesterday; the Trade Winds should return by the weekend. Vog comes up from the volcano on Big Island, pushed by SE winds. While 80F is pleasant with Trades, it's sticky when they die. Haven't had to use the A/C...yet. Ceiling fans in LR and BR have been adequate. Home (Chicagoland) is due to drop back to single digits again this week.

Partly sunny, rainy, breezy..just wait a few minutes it'll cycle through again..

50 here and cloudy. No snow . The rain yesterday washed it all away.

60's and sunny. Quite lovely.

no sun at all today, sigh...dh just got home and almost slipped on the darn ice...and we don't have a paved drive...he had to salt the dirt! also had to turn up the heat for a while...I still have the space heater on in the kitchen...keeping pipes warm...thanks be years ago we had a pipe break and after it was fixed, our boys (then) covered every pipe with those insulated covers....

In the northern California foothills (about an hour's drive
east of Sacramento) it is 61 degrees at 3:20 p.m., PST.
We've had bright sunshine, no wind, and blue skies all day.
Supposed to get down to 44 degrees tonight.

Our rain this past Saturday was just enough to turn dust on cars into light mud.
We desperately need snowpack and rain.

We've had six inches of snow fall so far today. It's still falling. Sigh.....

Rainy day and night here in Georgia. High got to 57 degrees. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and nice, then that all changes for Wednesday when we turn cold again.

That sounds like nice comfortable weather, Linda. I work with a lady who is formally from Georgia. She met her husband online and moved up here to marry him.

I wanna go "south"! Here in Southern Oregon it is wet, breezy and a cold, damp 40 deg. No sun. Below freezing tonight. (and JUST over the Mtns. it is 65+) Keep warm! OH, DH tells me they are having a heat wave in Australia now (tennis on the telly!). Cruel I tell ya!

Southern California--mid 80's all week. We are dying for rain, but none in sight.

It was 82 here today and above normal temperatures predicted for the entire week.
We really, really need rain. Our reservoirs are around 23% of the normal and rain isn't predicted in the next couple of weeks, at least.
Our county and the next county to the south are huge agricultural areas and the drought is awful. Beef, fresh vegetables, wine and strawberries are being affected. Also avocados.

Not too bad to day (for January); Got up in the 30s F with some sun for part of the day - tomorrow: a different story. Am Alberta Clipper is headed our way and it has slowed its advance meaning it will linger longer when it gets here. The forecast is for snow beginning tomorrow morning at 6 AM and continuing for the next 18 hrs. We'll get 5 to 7 inches and the bext tier of counties north of here will see 7 to 9 inches. And then, the bottom falls out of the temprature. That's norm for this time of year although we are ahead of average for snowfall.

Sunday, I was carrying the laundry down to the laundry room (an outside trek) and it was sunny and fairly warm. No coat needed. I put the clothes into the washers, opened the outside door....and there was a small blizzard going on! Snowing and the wind was blowing like CRAZY! It lasted for about 10 minutes, then stopped and was just windy and warmish the rest of the day. That's Colorado for ya!

Jeaniwa, that sounds exactly like what happened here on Saturday. It was so nice outside. Cold, but blue skies and pretty. I had $50 worth of ribs simmering in the oven and was going to put them on the barbecue. I looked out the window and there was a mini blizzard going on outside! I paniced because I had way too many ribs to finish in the oven and I wanted them on the barbecue. The sky decided to let me have my way. The blizzard only lasted about 10 minutes.

Daughter in Los Angeles called us from the country club pool. She took her 4 year old for a swim before lunch. Love the sunny weather, but I would settle for several days of a gentle rain that would soak in well.

the sad thing about la is the lack of rain! and you know what that leads to when they have the santa ana winds...fires...there are many things that I do miss in ca, but as bad as the snow in mi and the frigid temps, I don't miss smog! we do have a few days now and then, but never the brown haze...

I did manage to get out today although our driveway is still icy...more snow on the way from Canada, lol....

Gorgeous! Sunny and +3C! A lady called in to the radio station to say she saw 4 robins on her lawn on the snow. A little early for robins, February can be brutal, but it's a nice breath of spring-like weather.

Tomorrow to be back to normal with -5C, and snow flurries.

We did use the A/C in our bedroom last night. There was zero air moving and it was thick with vog. Today we drove into Kahului on errands (20 minutes from South Maui). *Someone* up above was turning on the hose full force, then off again, then on again, etc. You'd be drenched for two minutes, then dry, then another drenching. Stores were out of umbrellas.
