Anyone have fridge, micro,& range same wall?Pics? Cabinet Depth?
Comments (25)Sorry, no pictures yet but I am going to have all those on one wall and yes, it was a little challenging to figure out where the microwave was going to go! We have an L shaped kitchen with island. The long wall with the appliances meets up perpendicular to a window wall with sink (and an upper on each side of window. There's also a sink on the island, which is parallel to the cooktop. We considered, but ultimately did away with corner cabinets in favor of uppers that meet in a right angle. Facing the wall we will have (from left to right) a microwave/oven/warming drawer stack, built in fridge, and upper cabinets flanking a hood. Below the hood is a full range. If you are willing to split up your ovens that way it's one way to solve the microwave dilemma. Depending on the type of range this may or may not be a more costly option. Toaster oven will be the only appliance I keep out on the counter. There's another wall across the room where I'll put the coffee "center." The other option would have been to go with a cooktop instead of a range, double ovens and microwave built in to the island. PS Not meant to be a hijack, but my dilemma with this particular configuration is what to do about the hood. Even though I really like side pullouts down to the counter, my instinct is that it would chop up the space too much and call attention to the fact that the range is not centered on the run....See MoreShould white cabinet paint be the same as other white in house?
Comments (7)I'm embarassed to say I didn't give this any thought when we chose creamy cabinets, but it's worked out fine. Our trim is more of a real white, the cabinets are more of a vanilla. We have a white-trimmed window between two creamy cabinets and I never notice they're slightly different colors. We also have white beadboard on a non-cabinet wall in the kitchen that's the same white as the window trim but different from the cabinets, and that doesn't jump out at me either. Our kitchen chairs are a different creamy white than the creamy white cabinets, and that also doesn't bug me. This might not help, but that's the report from a creamy/regular white kitchen!...See Morecrown moulding, white or same color as cabinets?
Comments (6)How about a really dark color? Or else cherry on top (whipped cream optional LOL) and make transition to white back at the walls (same profile)? Someone else has thread about transitioning CM color but I haven't seen any replies to that....See MoreShould white kitchen cabinets be the same color as the white walls?
Comments (5)they can be diff. or pick a light contrasting color. I did Simply White on my walls in the room, but in the kitchen I did Light Pewter hard to get a good photo of both in one shot,,,, but the Light pewter is the wall next to fridge and the open shelving coffee bar,,,,Simply White is in the family room. My cabs are a shade brighter than simply White. the LED lights are Daylight, or 4000K better shot of Light Pewter. the Trim is semi gloss Simply White. so is the baseboard and crown the pantry room is also the pewter color. So you really don't have to do another white. I think it adds a bit more interest to do a slight contrast in color....See Morepalimpsest
