Yeah, they all look cute when they're sleeping! :) Seriously, puppyhood is *intense* and we're just now getting past the "I-wanna-die-young-so-I'm-gonna-chew-on-electric-wire" stage. Have fun with the new pup! And Teddy says "hello". As I'm writing this, she just abandoned a fresh beef bone so she could gnaw on the runner of the rocking chair. Puppies...

Thanks for that photo, val, it's helpful and I can definitely see doing a slipcover for this chair. DS is home on break and helped me move furniture around. We tried a variety of arrangements. I think the purple chair is too bulky for the space. What do you think? As far as how many people we need to seat, usually we host groups of 5-6 at a time. My bridge group is 12, but we don't need casual seating, just room for 3 bridge tables. Option #1: Couch where it was before away from the wall, add purple chair and side table. #2 Couch moved back against the window, rug is no longer centered, with purple chair. #3 Loveseat with side table and lamp. This seems cramped to me. #4 Loveseat centered on window with long couch going across the room. This was not good on the other side of the long couch, too close to the opposite wall to pass by comfortably. #5 Loveseat moved down towards fireplace, arms overlapping a little. #6 This arrangement was a little better as far as walking space. #7 Everything is pushed towards the fireplace more than in the original arrangement, which gives more area at the entrance to the living room. I don't think it's as inviting as having the non-L arrangement. #8 I don't think the purple chair works in the corner facing the back of the couch.

Justgottabeme, I could paint the sconces. They are black and gold mottled; hard to tell in the pics. I'm leaning towards no sconces. I had originally gotten them for the MBR (sitll need to paint in there), but I was thinking I needed somethng more on the wall over the sofa. Maybe once I get lamps on the end tables the pictures won't look so lonely (the sofa and end tables take up almost the whole wall). About the pictures, I really lucked out. I had decided to go w/ some B/W photos so I started looking around. I picked those 2 pics as a set on art.com, but I wasn't crazy how they had them matted and framed for the set price. I had previously seen the frames in my pictures at Michael's (39.99 each)so I decided I would just order the prints from art.com (19.99 each) and I would get those frames and have custom mats made. Well, when I went back to Michaels and started looking through their artwork, I found one of the pictures in the double mat you see in the picture for $19.99! I had looked through all their stuff a few days before I I do not femember it being there, so it was weird. Well, I decided to keep looking. Stuck in between 2 really big prints, I found the other pic in the same double mat! I hope no one was hiding it waiting for a sale - oops! LOL! Well, all their prints were on sale for 25% off, and the frames were on sale for 40% off, so I got a great deal. The prints were 14.99 (each including the mat!), and the frames were 23.99 each. The set at art.com in just plain old square frames and tiny mats was 104.99 plus whatever shipping would have been. Yay, Michael's!!!! Department of Social Services / Department of Human Services Whichever it is called in your state, go there and request emergency financial assistance. They have programs to help you pay delinquent rent, moving costs, untilities, etc. Show them your eviction notice. You have a notice to quit, but you don't have to start really worrying about it just yet. Your landlord has to take you to court first. The notice to quit is only preliminary and formality. But it is enough of a notice to let you know you have to do something and seek help. DHS may not be able to do anything until you actually receive a court-ordered eviction notice. But go there now and tell them you expect to be summonsed into court soon. Also, when you do go to court, you will be given an opportunity to make payment arrangements if you think by that time you will be able to live up to it. If you don't think you can, then don't make any arrangements. But you will already know you can receive help from DHS once you receive an eviction notice. So while you're in court, ask for time to pay. They will give you time to pay, like 10 days or 15. You can always ask for more time. You don't have to feel bullied in court. I realize how upset you are from the diagnosis and from your husband being a horrible jerk. I'm really awfully sorry this all is happening to you. At the moment though, you have to wipe your tears and get your head together to prevent losing your home and to prevent losing your children. There is help out there, so please don't sulk and go take care of things. Other sources for assistance might include your local Catholic Church, St. Vincent dePaul, and the Community Action Service in your county. Most Catholic churches offer financial assistance to people in your predicament. They don't want to see women and children out on the street. Call the one near you and ask for a St. Vincent dePaul representative. Or ask for St. Vincent outreach center in your community. These are just additional sources for help that I can think of, but you probably won't need them. More than likely DSS / DHS (whatever it's called in your state) is going to help.
