Love beets! Especially pickled. DH likes them plain. We both love beet soup (borscht).

Yes, I like beets. I usually make them with a vinegar and oil dressing and I often add onions.

I do, I love them about anyway. Especially cooked then tossed in butter with salt and pepper!

I par-boil and then roast them. Hubs is a big beet fan.

I roast them in a covered glass casserole, using a recipe from the NY Times I found online. I'm glad not to have to wrap them in aluminum foil.

Lovers of beets here, any way you fix them, but especially pickled. More often than not, you will find some in the refrigerator. Gave my daughter pickled beets for her recent 52nd birthday...she was delighted.

My son has turned me on to fresh beets cooked and sliced in a salad. They are so yummy. I only had canned or pickled beets before this. He joined a food club at a local restaurant, and he gets produce the buyer selects for the restaurant delivered in a box to him once a month. By the end of the month he and his fiancee have finished the box and are ready for the next one. They go online to find recipes to use the produce they get every month and have some tasty experiments.

Love, love, love beets. I especially love a beet and goat cheese salad. I always put beets on my salad at the salad bar.

Another beet lover here. I ususally by the jar ones because I don't see the fresh ones often in the stores. Maybe I just missed them or wasn't looking for them. I'd like to try them since sheilajoyce made them sound so good. I like beet salad with sour cream, diil and green onions. Also like the pickled kind.

Like Flamingo I don't care for hot beets, but like the pickled ones (my Mom makes wonderful sweet canned beets).

Yes! I eat them any way I can get them - they are good when chopped, raw, in a salad or any other way - they are just GOOD!

I love beets. I usually can my own- I like pickled beets and I make Harvard beets. I have some in the greenhouse, I should have planted them sooner. I'm growing lettuces and other stuff in there too.

I too love beets, but that is the one veggie that DH refuses to eat. Something to do with his childhood. He doesn't even want them in the house--so I just enjoy them elsewhere.
Friend makes beet jelly so good--funny, he will eat that but nothing else.

Both DH and I love beets! Pickled, Roasted, buttered, or any way we get them. I have not tried fresh, raw beets but I probably should. I don't care for beet greens.

I kind of remember places like "Wolfies" and others (Miami Fl) used to have bowls of them on tables with some othe freebie to use as wanted with your NY style Deli sandwiches.

Used to prepare Harvard beets for my ex. Never cared for any kind of beets myself.

I'll bet you didn't know that in early America, prior to about 1830 potatoes were seldom used in this country. Instead, the early Americans relied upon a diet that was heavy with Pumpkins, squash, Beets, Parsnips, Carrots, Rutabegas and what we call Red Top Turnips, all of which held up much better than potatoes in crude cold storage in the root cellar.

Not only were beets boiled and sliced in the manner we serve them today, they often cut them in half longwise, baked or roasted them and served them like we do a baked potato. They also boiled them then mashed them just like we do mashed potatoes, but then the early Americans would not waste their time on the little dinky beets we are so fond of today.

Note that the barrel they are laying on is a 10gal keg that is about 15" in diameter. These beets average a foot long and weigh between 1 and 3 lbs each.

Oh yes, and did I mention that they cooked the tops just like we do spinach or collard greens?

Yes, I surely like my beets...husband hates the things so I do not cook them. If we go out I try to get them on my salad (pickled) or off the menu, cooked. Do not know how they cook them, but some restaurants that DO have them are better than others, for sure!

My former SIL always grew golden beets, that is when I fell in love with hot beets. They are wonderful.

pickled red beets are the BEST thing on a salad bar. Usually, the container is empty, when I was there. :)

The produce section at Trader Joes has some great beets that are cooked and ready to slice into salads. I always have several boxes on hand.

When I send Bobby to the garage to get us a vegetable he will always bring back a can of beets. If I don't want beets 3 days in a row I have to specify that he is to bring back something different. His comment is "but I like beets." LOL
