Hi. I am a very satisfied Karcher customer and owner of the K 3.99 electric washer. It has been running perfectly with my little jobs of cleaning my small deck and the driveway once or twice a year. I used it a week ago and it was perfect. Today I plugged the water and the electric power on and turned the power switch to "on". The machine "charged" the water and then went into idle waiting to go to work. I let it stand a few minutes while I was clearing the deck and all of a sudden it started "charging" again. After a few minutes it kept running and the power would not go off when I moved the power switch to "off". I can turn it off at the plug circuit breaker, but not at the machine. I'm afraid if I keep going, I will burn out the pump or something else. The water pressure coming out of the wand is just fine. Help! What do I need to do? You've pretty much answered all your own questions. The pump is receiving power and running when it shouldn't. Could also be a shorted wire, but the door switch works (interrupts the pump circuit) so that seems unlikely in this case. It's normal for a small amount of water to remain in the sump (no dishwasher or clothes washes drains 100%), that's not source of the problem. Repairing a 4-year-old unit that has light use is not unreasonable. SearsPartsDirect.com often has the best price but check other sources (search by the part number) for comparison.

Thats the only good thing about life in ND Phyllis, good friends and neighbors are always willing to help! Now if one of mine would come and get my heat going I'd be extremely happy! No heat cause somedarnthing on the boiler quit. Its 65 degrees in here and I am cold. We have electric heaters that will warm things up as long as we have electricity. (but we do have a car wash that needs to be heated in this weather and lots of plumbing in the business, we are all in the same building) Everything is iced over here and power lines are down in several directions. Limbs breaking off trees too cause they are encased in ice. I saw Fargo on the national news and heck it was clear there! Not raining or snowing! How do they rate? LOL

You are really asking two questions (1) should the water to the fridge be turned off and (2) should the water to the house be turned off. Only Samsung can tell you about its appliance; however, the poster who told you to be sure that the automatic icemaker isn't going the entire time is absolutely correct. But I don't think that you should shut off the water solely to this refrigerator. You should shut off the water to the house, why? Because if something springs a leak (and there is no reason a brand-new refrigerator line should spring a leak but many older pipes may spring a leak) only the water in the pipes and the hot water heater will drain into the house, something between 30 and 100 gallons of water, if the mainline is on literally thousands of gallons can drain into the house....
