Sounds interesting, I have a lot of chin hair that I,ve been tweezing for years, I always tell dh that he will have to do it for me when I,m unable to anymore! He didn,t think much of that idea,lol

I like this idea. It works pretty much like the Epilady I bought nearly 30 years ago to remove hair from my legs except that the Epilady was electric. It has a coil that expands and tightens, pulling the hair out as well. Over time, the hair on my legs came out so easily that if I found a stray I had missed, I could just pluck it out with my fingers.

I've seen the type of product you're talking about it in several catalogs and I've thought about getting one myself. At present I am using the Emjoi Tweeze. It works well, but it uses batteries and I like the idea of using something non-electric.

Threading has fascinated me ever since I saw a video a couple of years ago. I actually got to see it "performed" at a mall last year. The Ballabe works on pretty much the same principle, except that you cannot pick and choose which hair to pluck and which to leave behind, as you would when styling eyebrows. But for a "bearded" lady's chin, I think it would work very well.

By the way, you can buy one much cheaper, sans the Bellabe name from several other sources. Here's one for $6.98 (plus shipping).

I can't comment on this product but I would highly recommend electrolysis for anyone with a facial hair problem. Get the hair gone permanently and never worry about it again.

Donna, I always fear knock-offs, but I must admit the one in your ad looks just like the Bellabe. I was also wondering if I could get one at the hardware store for 59 cents!!

Try it for 59�, or just buy the one for $6. and let us know how it does.

I wish I HAD seen the $6 one; unfortunately I took the plunge already. Should have known to ask at the KT FIRST!

I've had electrolyis. And it takes a couple times to kill
the hair follicle. And it will kill that hair, but as
most hair on women's chins are usually hormonal, they just
keep popping up out of other follicles.

I have hair on my upper lip! It seems to have come on since I am in early menapause. I do not like it! Is electrolyis expensive? The last few months has been some big medical costs for me. I have psoriasis and have a major flare up. Seems it has even infiltrated my bladder which surprised me a bit. I want this hairy lip gone! My daughter told me to shave it but really...wouldn't it just grow back thicker!

I have been buying my Bellabe from their website for many years now. Initially, I got the pop-up warning as my security filter was set too high. Yeah...their website is safe to buy from. Or you can always buy from QVC or Amazon.

I like Bellabe much better than the other knock-offs. The knock-offs made me break out, and did not actually remove the hair from the roots.

My sis had a lot done, very expensive. It is not something you do one time, you have to keep doing it because of new growth. My dermatologist told me not to pluck, he said shave it. He has seen to many infections due to plucking.

Debn, no shaving won't make the hair grow back thicker, that's a myth. I have fine hair on my face and I run an electric razor over it every 3 days or so. My hair hasn't gotten thicker or coarser. It's so easy, painless, fast, and no irritation.

I bought my DBF a new Norelco razer for zmas and now I have his old one. I have to shave my chin everyday. I use it wherever on my face needs it except my eyebrows. works great.

I pay $25 for 1/2 hour for electrolysis. I usually go every 2-3 or even every 4 weeks now, to clean things up. I used to have to go every week.

I remember my grandma used to shave her chin with a double edge razor. It's weird that I just kind of accepted that concept and never really wondered why it was that she did that. Unfortunately now I know....

I remember Carolyn fron Real Housewives of NJ said she exfoliates by shaving. I have to say she looks great.

The Bellabe is great. Got mine from QVC.

Well I decided to try the 'true' bellabe, and ordered 2 of them from the site the other day, thinking I would either have a replacement on hand or have one to share with a friend. I love it! Skin is so smooth and soft. Yes it tingles a bit, but no worse than a pluck, and is a heck of a lot faster.

For those that have been using Bellabe for a while, does it eventually wear out and need replacing? I read the instructions about cleaning it.

I haven't used mine long enough to know how long it lasts. Seems fine so far.

I gave the second one to my sister, and she then ordered another to give one to her daughter. They make a nice gift, but it is a personal care item, so you want to be sure it would be well received. Donna (above) posted a link to one which is much better priced. I measured and it's about 1/4-1/2" shorter, but otherwise it looks identical and might be just as good.

I noticed that my Bellabe is Made in the USA!

I wonder where the knock-offs are made. I really don't mind paying a bit more, if an item is made in the USA, (or Canada). I was surprised to see that the Bellabe wasn't foreign made, iykwim.

I emailed Harriet Carter about where their device is made. China. I was just curious.
