Gonna be a sad/happy day, today, for me.

Dearest, best long time friend will be leaving here, with her husband, for part of the years, to be closer to their two grown children with families and 6 grandchildren.

Their townhome up North is completed, and they will be dividing their time between here and up there. Marlborough MA is where their new place is.

Pickup for the big furniture, that they want to take is, the 20th, and they will be following the truck.

I know I'll see her, but not as often. Bad time, due to the weather, to be moving, up North, but that's the way the building went.

Future plans are winter down here, and warm weather up North.

She's my tried and true best friend, and we are having our last lunch, today for a while.

This is us few years back, enjoying Easter dinner at her lovely home, here.

It is always sad to have a friend move away. Are you on facebook? Could you take a train/plane in the winter to visit? Do you have skype on your TV.

Oh we'lll keep in touch and I'll see her when they spend time here. Just sad for me, right now, and happy for she and her husband.

Very sorry for the loss, and best wishes for when you try again, US Marine. I could be wrong and it's okay to correct my wondering, but the white fungus makes me think....mealybug-nest or some-other-look-a-like-scale-type fuzzy whitebug-nest...or maybe even whitefly-nest...that live deep inside the stems....rotten little bugs that appear as a fungus of white stuff. Those ants may have been farming the white stuff and slurping up the honeydew (bug poop) before it resulted into sooty-mold (product of bug poop). About the old potting mix, let it dry out completely and compost it....and/or if there is a hesitate feeling then recycle it into the lawn by scattering small handfuls tossing far and wide with a skipping stone gesture. There's another palm that might interest you that is not as temperamental as a coconut palm. It's called a Licury (another way to spell it: Licuri) palm. It has edible nuts like the coconut, and I've heard it tastes like it, too. The Licury or Licuri (Syagrus coronata) is more cold hardy and more drought tolerant, and pretty sure won't get as giant, but looks every bit as tropical. It also sports a super duper way cool trunk, and is Lethal Yellow resistant. I waited a little while to post my condolences, I know how hard it is, but please take your time to grieve. We really were put in a situation where we couldn't last time. You really need the time or you will never bond with the new one. You will know when the right one shows up, might be days,weeks, or months. Maybe longer, you will know.

I feel so bad for my brother- in- law. He was so wonderful to my sister. When my other sister died last year it was so hard on him with it being the same time of year. My oldest sister died on my daughter's birthday and my youngest one was buried on her birthday. Now his Mother just passed away. About 6 months after my sister died he hit a horse on the highway after dark. It crushed the passengers side of the top of the car into the seat. One of his Grandkids are often with him. Someone was watching out for them. He was transported to a hospital. He didn't remember my sister dying. His son had to tell him. Please keep him in you prayers. His name is Joe. With my sister being gone so long I pray some gal will walk into his life some day. He so deserves to be loved and happy. I love him dearly.

I understand how you are feeling. It's great that you will still get to see and spend time with her though.
But, it's just that all the things that you are used to do with her year round is now cut in half.

T'was a great visit! We always enjoy lunching together, etc. Will be some time before the next one.

I know exactly how you are feeling. One of my best pals just moved this week. I'm happy for her, but I know I will miss her very much.

I'm so sorry your friend is moving part-time, Glenda. I also feel pretty devastated when friends move--my very good friend down the street moved 15 minutes away, but I so miss our morning walks together with her dog!

I certainly understand your feelings. It is tough when friends move away. But at least she will be back for part of the year.

But Massachusetts isn't the other side of the world. Certainly you could take a quick trip for a weekend or so, right? That would help make up the time in between. That's what my friends and I do.

The Boston area is a lot of fun! Also, one of my favorite cruises I ever took was to Bermuda and they can leave from Boston.

So sorry your friend is moving. Lucky for both of you she will still be close to you part of the time.. I'm sure she is sad to leave you, too. Having a dear friend is so wonderful.
