I haven't even seen it around here. I suppose some stores somewhere have it, but I haven't run across it. But then I don't use much paste so it's not a big deal to me anyway. But I agree it's a good idea.

It is often an imported product so those little ethnic groceries in my area carry it. It is at gourmet specialty stores and and health food stores too. I would assume the same in Canada.

You can order it online if there is no store near you.

Haven't seen it and didn't know it existed, I don't watch cooking shows. Sounds like a good idea though.

Interesting that you asked, because I've been looking for it here. Publix used to carry it, but I haven't seen it for ages. It would last forever in the frig, unlike opening that little can and using a spoonful and later tossing the rest. I do buy basil in a tube. Tastes just like fresh!

If you can't find the tubes (which are made from better tomatoes) you can buy a good quality tomato paste in a little can and just use what you need and freeze the leftover to use at another time. You don't have to throw out the leftover if you do not use a whole can of tomato paste.

Garlic paste also comes in a tube. Giant carries it.

All three, tomato, garlic and basil....in the tube, the item is concentrated, and much stronger than canned tomato paste, crushed garlic or chopped basil.

I've seen garlic in a tube here (Canada) but not tomato paste.

I will have to look at our stores to see if there is tomato paste, I do know there are several other herbs etc. Around here they are sold in both the spice isle and the fresh produce sections

I've never used tomato paste. What do you use if for?

I use tomato paste to thicken tomato based sauces (for spaghetti, lasagna, etc).

Also good for making red pasta.

The AMORE website has a link at the very bottom of the page, where you can find a list of the supermarket chains(US and CAN) that sell the pastes.
They also sell them through Amazon.

I've bought it at gourmet and specialty stores in Ontario. I can't remember where exactly in Ontario you are but I bought it at Bruno's Deli in Pickering and at Pusateri's in downtown Toronto (Yonge and Bloor area).

If I find it in a grocery store it is usually in the produce aisle. I buy mine at an Italian store. What I really like are the frozen cubes of herbs. Metro carries them.

My mother has been on the search for her frozen cubes of garlic and pesto. Sam's carried them, and now that they are closed, she can't find it.
I'll look in Metro when I go near one and look for them for her. Thanks! I'll keep looking for the paste too.
So convenient in the tube, really. Although I do freeze my leftovers from the little can in dabs.

Got a German grocery store in the area? You usually can find it there under the Tommy's label. Ditto garlic and horseradish and several kinds of mustard. Comes handy when you need just a little bit, as for 1 person.

Keep asking your grocer for it. I asked for it and now they carry it in rural Iowa!

Love using it. It adds an extra tomato punch to things, and you don't waste.

I used to freeze my leftover paste from the can - I put 1 table spoon tabs on parchement pan and froze, then tossed in a zippy bag, but this is so much easier.

I use it in Spanish Rice - just need a tablespoon or two.

I have seen it in Toronto - but I believe mainly in smaller shops - Italian most likely. I can't recall the last time I saw it, but will look when I next go shopping. I don't know where you live - sometimes a product is carried simply due to the size of the city and the population mix.
