Condenser finally bit the dust & furnace also in need of replacement (existing carrier equip include 22 yr old 2.5 ton series 38 AC condenser, & 26 yr old gas furnace series 110, model 58ss080, 95k BTU). Here are the estimates to replace:

1) Trane TUD080R9V4k variable speed 2 stage furnace, 80% AFUE, 80k BTU; Aspen Coil; Trane 2.5 ton condenser 4TTX5030A1000A, 16 SEER overall for system. $6892. Told it is eligible for total of $1500 fed tax credit, & don't want heat pump as it will blow cooler air around house in winter

2) Trane TUH2B080A9V3VA XV95 variable speed 2 stage 95% AFUE, 80k BTU; Aspen Coil; Trane 2.5 ton condenser 4TTX5030A1000A, 15 SEER. $6900. Told it is eligible for total of $1500 fed tax credits

3) Trane TUD080R9V3 variable speed 2 stage, 80% AFUE, 80k BTU; Aspen Coil; Trane 2.5 ton heat pump 4TWX5030A1000A 16 SEER; Trane dual fuel thermostat TCONT802. $6376. Told it is eligible for total of $1500 fed tax credits

4) Trane TUD080R9V3 variable speed 2 stage, 80% AFUE, 80k BTU; Aspen Coil; Trane 2.5 ton condenser 4TTX5030A1000A, 16 SEER. $5842. Told it is eligible for total of $1500 fed tax credits

5) Carrier Infinity ICS Modulating 58MVC060-1-14 modulating variable speed 95% AFUE, 60k BTU; Carrier Infinity Control thermostat; Carrier Perf 15 2.5 ton heat pump, 25HPA530A003, 15 SEER. $7300 (includes $500 rebate from Carrier). Told it is eligible for total of $1500 fed tax credits

6) Carrier Infinity 58CVA070-12 variable speed 2 stage 80% AFUE, 70k BTU; Carrier Infinity 2 ton heat pump 25HNA624, 15 SEER; Carrier Infinity System Controller SYSTXCCUID01. $6470 (includes $1100 online rebate from Carrier). Told it is NOT eligible for fed tax credits

7) Carrier Comfort 58STA070-12, 80% AFUE, 70k BTU; Carrier Performance 2.5 ton condenser 24APA530, 15 SEER; ADP Coil. $5825. Told it is eligible for total of $1500 fed tax credits

Received conflicting information if heat pump & 95% afue would work efficiently in this 60 yr old solid brick & block house with existing duct work, no insulation in walls, anderson insulated windows, & 1000 sq feet to heat & cool in n. virginia. One estimator did a quick load calculation of 28,968 total cooling load, & 62,627 total heating load. Also got conflicting information about federal tax credits.

Out of the 7 estimates above, what are good choices for this house & are fed tax credits available for any of the above? Plan on being in house less than 5 yrs. Thanks, Sealie
