Yesterday was my FIRST anniversary!

I've been married for 25 years now - kinda.

The first marriage endured for 24 years and the second (and LAST!) marriage hit the one year mark yesterday, on January 1st. :)

Very exciting. It's been a wild ride this first year, as he was single for 10 years and I was single for five years and we were both fairly set in our ways *and* we were engaged eight weeks after our first date.

Fortunately, we're both OCD about many of the same things. The first time we went to hang a picture and we both appeared at the spot with our own carpenter levels, measuring tapes and marking pencils, I knew it was true love.

My middle daughter and his eldest son are professional musicians, so that's an interesting connection, too. When I was on a book signing in Los Angeles, Hubby learned "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Grows" and played it (on his guitar) and sang it to me when I returned. When I was away at another book signing, he *wrote* me a love song which brought tears to my eyes.

What's almost funny is, after my divorce in 2002, during the deepest, darkest and saddest times of my life, I wrote a four-page mission statement describing the type of man I wanted to meet and marry. I read it and revised it frequently - for four years. The new hubby is amazingly close to that mission statement. :) The only thing is, I was planning on someone taller. LOL. I don't care about that, though. He's the cuddliest man I ever met! :)

Here are some photos of our wedding day - one year ago - January 1st, 2007.
