You'd be surprised at how many pages of things you have posted pop up

a reminde not to give out too much personal info IMHO

Hah! Most of the things that come up for 'chisue' are not related to ME at all. A "Deviant art" website? LOL That IS me on the TripAdvisor Hawaii forum.

Someone brought up Yelp, and I have got to say that at least around here Yelp seems to be frequented by people who are dissatisfied with every service they've ever received, anywhere. My dentist, who regularly gets "Best of" in local magazines based upon votes from colleagues and patients has only a few reviews on Yelp, and they are terrible. But they started out with things like "I have been to many dentists, and I have never been to one with an oriental rug in the waiting room, so I knew I was going to be ripped off, so when he....etc." Really? I have been to my childhood dentist, a couple specialists and then one generalist as an adult. So "I have been to many..." anything, sets off warning bells in my head. Same with people who've hated the meals and service "Every Time" they have been to a certain restaurant. How many times do you need to decide you hate a restaurant? It takes me once. I know people (who I won't go out with socially) that manage to lodge a complaint and get something comped at every fine dining establishment in the city. These are the people who post on Yelp. I think most rating services are skewed one way or the other, so I pretty much only rely on actual referrals. It makes things difficult when trying to find someone, for sure.

Thanks for the job search link. Now I'm getting phone messages from numbers reported to be scamsters. SIGH - change my email address AND my phone. I cant believe I was so naÃÂ¯ve to send my resume to some unknown craigslist poster! Is it safe to assume that any job posting without a company name/website url is a fake?

KD, do you know how rare it is to have three grand trines?? And, yes, the memory does get lousy. But basically for me, I now understand why I think in non sequiturs. This is so weird. You and I also lived very close to each other (as I recall you shopped at Jurgenson's...which was very close to our home). I lived in that area until 10 years ago....we may have been neighbors!..and we both have grand trines (and many months ago I had been thinking about Brooke (chinabrooke) and I looked in here and saw you had posted a "where is Chinabrooke" thread....and that day, I received an email from Brooke....how weird is that, fellow triple grand trine person?

Thanks for all the input. I've not got anything to sign yet, but wondered what the normal practice was. I always mark my pottery, so I can find them off the bisque shelves (I go to a city craft center & there are lots of things that end up looking too much alike until glazed.) PS.. Linlee, even if you aren't selling the things, I would imagine that somewhere down the road ~ that moth for example ~ someone would like to be able to look & say, "see? she did do it, here is her xxxxx" It will be an heirloom to someone in the far, far, far away future.

Nothing comes up on mine- I guess there are too many famous people with the name McMann- and I'm not one of them, actually mcmann isn't even my last name.

It was kind of fun doing the image seach with my user name... lots of old projects and pictures come up. It could be a good thing if I want to find an old post and didn't remember what I had titled it.

A lot of what came up on the web search was Lydia 1959 (not lydia1959) and had nothing to do with me. Although some of it was a reminder that I'd posted at several other forums with the same ID. A scuba diving forum? lol I needed some info on scuba equipment I was selling on eBay.

There were about 3,000 things to read about pattico...

I only checked about 10 pages...I only found one that was me...from a craft site about 4 years ago...there were 4 new messages waiting for me from several years ago...

I opened the first one ...it was porn....I shoulda know better...I deleted all of them without opening the next three.

I had to back 3 pages to see any of my stuff. Most are photos of my Quilts of Valor, and I put them out there deliberately.

I always knew that any posting on a forum would be searchable with most search engines.

The StoneyBaloney that you find when you Google ... is *not* me! *not! not! not!*

I do not record/sell reggae music, I do not grow and sell marijuana, I do not have a surf store ... and that was just in the first page of returns! On another page, I found there is a stoneybaloney.com I am afraid to click it!

One reason NOT to use the same screen name on all the sites you visit - no one can 'connect the dots'.

Lots of Dilly_Dallys come up on a search. Only the ones associated with GW are me. The Dilly_Dally on FriendFinder.com is NOT me. LOL.

What Dilly Dally said. I use different usernames for different things. All my usernames are gender neutral and really don't connect with any real names or nicknames of myself or family. Passwords on random and long except for places I already feel are public anyway. Wildchild doesn't get you much unless you know where I post and you've already seen all that. LOL

I am NOT the creepy fat diapered guy in a cage that I've seen pop up. LOL
