Need help! Wild rice to go with Easter lamb.

I have been asked to bring a wild rice dish to the family Easter dinner. I'm fine with that, I seem to be the only one in the family who successfully cooks it in our dry, high altitude area. But I would like to do something more springlike than my usual variations with sauteed onion, mushrooms, thyme or walnuts and dried cranberries that seem so heavy for late April.

I've thought about lightening it up by adding some brown basmati but would still like some add -ins.

I'd love to hear your ideas.
