Another drawer question, 3-drawer vs 4-drawer cabinets?
Comments (3)If you only have two drawer bases, I would probably stick with 3 drawers in both. I do have one 4-drawer base--but I planned in advance what I was going to put in it & I have seven drawer bases. What do I put in the 4-drawer base? 24", the top three are the same size (same as top drawers everywhere else), the fourth/bottom is a bit deeper: * Flatware * Plastic Bags, Wraps, Wax Paper * Bread baskets & Plates * Misc Coffee & Tea supplies The rest are 3-drawer bases (1 shallow & 2 deep), 2-drawers + WD, & 1 drawer+ MW. The other shallow drawers hold: * Prep & Cooking Utensils (under cooktop) * Baking Tools & Utensils (in Baking Center) * Pot Holders (b/w cooktop & DOs) * Utensils for gluten-free foods * Linens & Placemats HTH!...See MoreIf you have a drawer stacks of 3 in your base cabinets.....
Comments (4)Mine are 10, 10 and 3.5 inches. The small is just enough for rolls of tinfoil, cutlery, etc. I like having the clearance of the 10" (drawer fronts are 12") it's deep enough to stack bowls, pots, etc, but aesthetically, it would probably be better to to as susan has with a bigger one on the bottom. Somehow the eye fools you and even though my bottom 2 drawers are the same size, the bottom one looks smaller. If it was a bit bigger it would look better proportionally - if that makes sense at all. Maybe you can see what I mean in a pic....See More3 drawers 4 drawers which to pick
Comments (14)I encourage you to go for three. And I'd make them unequal depths. I love my super deep pots and pans drawer below my cooktop. I don't have to take one step to reach the pan I want. My arrangement is a shallow utensil drawer on top, deep P&P drawer in the middle and Tupperland in the bottom. (After living these twin top drawers, I had them replaced with one wide drawer. Now I don't have to go back and forth trying to remember which drawer had the utensil I want.) A deepish drawer for towels is also nice. I stack them on edge so I can see all the choices at once. Comments (15)Drawer dimensions are always discussed by the external drawer front dimensions. Yes, the internal space is more important, but that's why you have to do the math for the type and brand of construction. It can be radically different between a frameless line and an inset one for instance. You only get 30'' of physical space to divide here. And you do want to have some type of visual continuity rather than higgledy piggledy random distribution of sizes. That usually translates to having a uniform top drawer for all cabinets, regardless of the distribution of the rest of the cabinet space. Unless you are doing 2 deep pot and pan drawers, and those are generally separated out from the rest of the cabinets by either a range, or a full height cabinet with pullout or tray storage....See Morebreezygirl
