Comments (1)Find a HVAC company that will do it. Ours did our copper roof valleys and flashing, and cut sheets for our copper range and backsplashes. He was also going to do copper counters too....See MoreCopper Sink and Dish Soap?
Comments (3)We’ve had our copper sink for almost 2 years. At first, I tried to figure out what was causing every little “spot” or color change, but I’ve learned to embrace the many different colors that certain foods and drinks make. Don’t get me wrong, I love my sink! I just wanted to share a picture of what a copper sink with daily use looks like. :)...See MoreCopper Sink vs white granite composite
Comments (10)I have a copper sink from Havens Metal with a living finish. My faucet is Kohler Artifact in ORB finish and I have other copper accents in the kitchen. The sink doesn't look "dirty" but just has a variegated finish and it is fun to watch it change. For example, I had some barbecue chicken and the sink became shiny where the sauce was on it for a bit - and then it gradually acquires a patina again. I don't keep a grate on the bottom although I have one which I use as an extension of my counter since my sink is a ledge style with various accessories like the "grate". This enabled me to get a very large sink since a portion of the sink is used like a counter except better - ie. handwashed items can drain; produce can be washed over it and left to drain; anything messy that gets prepped is prepped right over the sink. In my experience it is lower maintenance that enamel (which I had previously - Kohler cast iron enamel) and stainless steel which I also had because clean up consists of wiping down the bottom with a sponge with some dish detergent versus having to keep "white" looking clean and SS shiny. ETA - If you decide to get a copper sink, make sure that it is a quality one with a "natural" finish. The copper sinks with the artificial factory finish require special care. I have one in my guest bathroom but it gets minimal use so I am not worried about taking off the finish and also the dark patina goes well with the rest of the finishes. I would not want a "living finish" in my bathroom....See MoreCopper Sink Protective Coating
Comments (5)@kudzu9 You can't "mess up" the appearance of a copper sink with a living finish - that is the beauty of it because whatever you do it just gets the patina back pretty quickly. And I have never had to scrub my copper sink because it isn't "white" like the Kohler enamel I had which had to be scrubbed with Bar Keepers Friend because otherwise it was discolored just from ordinary use. Just recently I had a new housekeeper who is a VERY conscientious cleaner and even though I had told her that the sink was the color it was supposed to be, she must have forgotten because she tried to polish it. She had gotten a bit "polished" and apologized because she hadn't been able to finish - thankfully. 🤣 I was so bummed but in about a week it was back to its beautiful "mottled" living patina. But if you want a shiny sink it is not for you - it is for people who appreciate the patina just like some people like old faded jeans/real linen and other people want shiny shoes and crisp ironed shirts....See Morejanefan
