Cap seen on T.V.

Yesterday I turned on t.v. and just caught the tail-end of a program on Needle Arts Studio. (I've never seen one before) A lady was finishing making a cap that looked like it went in a swirl direction. I did see she was using one knitting needle and also a crochet hook. I've tried to find that program online to get the directions, but to no avail. Does anyone have a link?

This sounds like a pattern I have been trying to find for several years. I saw swirled baby hats for sale at a craft boutique. I finally assumed that she had made the hats on a knitting machine since I just could not find the pattern. So if you learn about the pattern, I would love to have the information too. I have never heard of that program. Will have to check our TV listings out here to see if we get it.

The problem isn't the TV sets: it's the ANTENNAS! Modern TV sets resolve at a much higher level that the older models, which show imperfections in the quality of reception that may have gone unnoticed in older, smaller TV sets. Manufacturers who use electronic tuners also include provision for tuning non-scrambled cable Tv signals. My experience has been that many people who purchase new TV sets never take them out of the 'Cable TV" mode, and they never see the UHF channels that are local to their area because of it. Anyone who is not going to subscribe to cable or satellite service these days should have a good roof-mounted antenna to get a servicable Tv picture. The old wire coat-hanger never worked as well as any remembers, and on a modern, well-resolving TV set, if going to look like garbage anyway, with lots of snow and ghosting. I would use for the windshield definitely. It us really hard to reach that thing well. We have that Emory board cat scratch thingy. I'm pretty sure the cats claws are sharper now! LOL A lot of those micro fiber cloths feel weird to me. Not sure why, but I don't like touching them. Home Depot has the BEST (IMO) cloths. I font know if they're "micro fiber",they're blue and they have a waffle weave. My windows have never looked better. I really don't like doing windows so when I go through all that and they still look bad, it's really frustrating. These towels are sold in the auto detailing section, but I have one for wibdows/mirrors, one for polishing the counters and fixtures, and one for the cars. I use vinegar/water and a rag to wash the windows and the polishing cloth to dry.

Here's something I'm learning about using coffee grounds -- a thin sprinkle disappears into the ground relatively quickly, an inch or two may form a crust at the surface when it's hot and dry, but more than two inches and the crust cracks and lets water and air through quickly. Have you ever seen the video of the new "water-absorbing" concrete pavement? That's what it looks like when I water with the hose over a thick layer of cracked-crust coffee grounds in Summer -- water goes straight down without even puddling. Whenever I read online articles or studies about using coffee grounds in the garden, they go as far as saying "apply thinly" because they must have observed the crust forming at the 1-2" mark. But I think it's odd that others didn't think to see what happens when they then add even more. Periodically, I dig back the layer of grounds I put down to see what's going on beneath the surface. It's teeming with life -- earthworms, especially, but also mycorrhizae. At this time of year, squirrels are also digging in it to bury their Winter caches. Of course, YMMV, but putting it down thickly is working for me here. :-) ~Christopher

I will have to ask my friend. It also has beautiful nature shots ( short videos, too, iirc) It’s especially nice if you’ve a large screen on a wall that’s face forward as you walk into a room. Imagine a snowy forest on a winter morning.. So, no help on that last pic?

Donna your pattern looks a lot like it. I'm at a disadvantage because I only crochet. Your pattern listed size 8 needles. This lady only used one needle. I know she made a flat piece with alternate colors in rows then ( I Guess) she sewed the ends together. Her ends were opposing diagonal shaped. She also had crochet a long chain she used somehow. They were saying how very easy it was. Sheila the program was hosted by Shay Pendray. I'm not familiar with her either. Thanks for helping me.

Janniel, are you sure she was using one knitting needle? Could she have been using an afghan hook, which is long like a knitting needle, but with a hook on the end.

Donna that is a very good idea. Why didn't I think of that.
I'm positive it was one needle with a point on it. I crochet some with a afghan hook. If any of you find this pattern please keep me in mind. Thanks again.
