I was looking at getting the kitchenaid 25 cu ft standard size french door, but I don't think the door next to the exterior wall will open enough to open the deli drawer and crispers. I have 7-8 inches between the fridge and wall. It would help if there was a 4 door w/o ice in the door(which we don't want), but I am not seeing anything. I also don't know if there is a fridge that is better than a Kitchenaid. I know they only get 3 stars and the interior shelves and bins look cheaper than some, and the cover on the deli drawer has been known to break, but it's one of the easiest to service, get parts for and has the best warranty. I'm also worried with any fridge, about water leaking onto new hardwood floors(even w/o ice in door and no ice or water hooked up inside). I'm looking for a 25 cu ft French door that is very reliable(reliable, yea, right...lol), durable interior(shelves, bins), no ice in door and door on left next to wall will open enough with 7-8 inches of room btwn fridge and wall. Also has good warranty, can get parts easily and serviced quickly if need be. I know I'm asking for the impossible, but if anyone has had a fridge for at least 2 yrs that you are happy with or knows of a fridge I should check out, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

What is the actual length of that wing wall? Some fridges won't be able to open the left door as is, depending on what size and type of refrigerator it may be. Aisle clearance for a fridge should be 42" minimum, from the fridge handles. You have to know the model of fridge, and how much clearance it needs at the rear, and to open the doors. It looks like the clearance that you are talking about is from the cabinet to cabinet, not taking into account the depth of the appliance. You have to factor in the depth of the appliance, as well as any traffic patterns through the space, like between the island and kitchen table. That should be 60" to allow through traffic.

I would seriously consider separate MW & vent hood. OTR MWs are not very effective as vents and very inconvenient to use b/c (1) they're so high off the floor and (2) you have to reach over a potentially hot cooktop to get into it to stir or place/remove items...which also means you're in the way of someone working at the cooktop. I think you have enough of space for them. As to the cooktop wall...you have 10' to play with... 36" for corner + 30" cooktop + xx + 38" for refrigerator + 6" b/w pantry door & end of cabinet/counter run = 110" That leaves you with 10" b/w the refrigerator & cooktop. So, unless you're OK with only 10" of workspace on the one side, I don't think the refrigerator will fit on that wall. But, if you put it in #2 and put a prep sink in the island it will greatly improve the functionality of having the refrigerator over there; it mitigates most of the issue I have with the "barrier island" since it's not a barrier for the cooktop, just the main sink. Of course, you lose the nice "Baking Center" w/ovens next to larger expanse of counter. Some things to think about. The prep sink will also increase your potential prep area by having 2 water sources. I've done a rough mockup of both ideas. Oh, I would not go w/the diagonal cab/counter int the corner if you move the cooktop next to it. I'd rather have a little "breathing room" b/w the sink wall counter & the cooktop. You'll see what I mean in the pics. But, b/f we get to the pictures, the DW placement is a concern. If it's to the left of the sink it will interfere w/anyone at the cooktop...they'll be backing into an open DW and believe me, that hurts (especially the corners!) See what I mean (red square is the open DW door and the red circles are the work areas for the cooktop & sink). I think the DW would be better on the other side. You could put an 18" trash pullout to the left of the sink...maybe move the sink & DW to the left to have a little more room for a 12" drawer bank b/w the corner & trash pullout. Here are the two ideas I talked about above: Notice there isn't much room b/w the cooktop & refrigerator. But you have a nice Baking Center. Here's w/the refrigerator in position #2. More potential prep area b/c of the prep sink.

@MinnesotaMary So the triple switch is two outdoor lights over the deck and the fixture over our dining table. Moving the switch to the right of the fridge might be a great solution. Other than that, the left fridge panel can be 2 inches from the switchplate. With that nudge over, a 33 inch sink basin instead of 36 plus 3 inches of former dead space, I will squeeze a 9-inch cabinet to the right of the fridge. Our cabinet designer has tried to talk me out of nudging the fridge over because she thinks it's too close to the sliders. BTW-- from the left fo the sliders to the wood top is 10 inches. Once the panel is up on the right side of the sliders, we'll have 8.5 inches to the trim. That 1.5 inch difference won't be noticeable at all--at least I hope so! Thanks again!!
