Karen's blog is tied at 35% of the votes this morning with John Gishue - last week to vote, up until Saturday - hope everyone will try and remember to vote for Karen.

The blogs are listed on the right hand side. Her blog is bitstop which is the second one on the list. Click the circle in front of her blogs name and then scroll down and click on vote. After voting you can leave a comment. If you do both she will get two votes.

The kids love it! I can't keep them out of there. Yes Bam, my wife is pretty hot;) That's the only solution to birds that I've found. It's a pain to put up but well worth it. I did get a LSU purple fig planted in Feb. I cut it back and rooted 3 of the cuttings. Gave one to the Father in Law, one to my Dad and one more left for me so now I got 2 fig trees. I hope they are good. I've never had a fresh fig! Charles, most of them are in containers. I have 6 in raised beds. 5 Rabbiteyes and 1 Emerald. I've had the rest of my varieties start to ripen and have been able to taste all of them now. Took my wife out there today to taste test to see which ones we want to keep and which to let go. Unfortunately she likes all of them so now I have to make the tough decisions. Honestly the only SHB I don't like is Premadonna. Watery and tasteless! All the other ones are good in there own respect, some defiantly better than others. Yes Fruitnut, Sweetcrisp stole the show;) I took some more pics of the later ripening varieties and will post them soon along with my personal take on all the varieties I've grown. Looks like I'm going to keep more than I though I would.

Oh, Christmas movies... so many of them are wonderful! However, I haven't a favorite one, just some of them that I particularly like since they remind me my childhood, when our family gathered together. The first one is The Bishop's Wife: I remember having watched this movie, lying behind the sofa as I would have been in bed... The second one is a French one (obviously) which in French is called "Santa Claus is a junk" - there has been an American remake that I did not appreciate at all: "Mixed Nuts" with Steve Martin (like this actor!) I think. The third one is Dial Code Santa Claus (also French movie) and the last one that I've probably watched a THOUSAND TIMES is... "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" Chevy Chase is a wonderful actor! I really enjoy watching this movie!!!!

Well, today is going much better. (Of course I am probably jinxing myself.) I went to the library and spoke to a few acquaintances who all remembered me and none of whom told me I had ratty hair or pimples. The Kindle Fire session went more smoothly, thanks to Frances I think I have figured out a thing or two or three. I think the problem is just plain old slowness. What I took for nonresponse is just plain slowness. I need to wait...wait...wait...wait a little more...voila! Being used to lightning fast responses on my work and home computers, I have become spoiled. It's not that bad, but it is definitely slow. And my two Kindles work differently - my old Kindle can receive books just about anywhere but my new Kindle Fire can only receive books if it has a wireless connection. Except for library books, which are a whole different animal. Yes, it is a learning experience. Anyway, I am tired of Christmas, not the spiritual beautiful part, but the I-don't-have-time-to-be-nice-to-you-because-I-have-better-things-to-do part. I will be glad when the holidays are over and my friends don't hang up on me because they are busy and stressed. I don't have the busy stressed part, because I pretty deliberately eliminated it quite some time ago. For instance, we don't exchange gifts in my family as a general rule. We all agreed quite some time ago that we all have too much stuff. But today is beautiful. It is snowing lightly and looks gorgeous. I'm so happy to have some snow that does not come part and parcel with a huge and ferocious storm. This is lightly falling, moderate temp, no wind, only half-an-inch expected snow. And yes, this is all tongue-in-cheek, I'm hope I have generated a bit of laughter!

Amazed at all your produce! We planted one bell pepper, one cherry tomato and one watermelon plant in a flowerbed for fun. We didn't get much; the kids enjoyed finding, picking and eating what they found. Has anyone seen this blog? Does anyone know whether voting puts cookies or worse on your computer? I'm normally leary of these things, though I'd be happy to vote if I thought it would not bother my computer.

We have 2 computers at home so I voted and left comments twice. I asked my daughter if she could ask her co workers to vote but she was afraid they'd get in trouble.
