It has been a dreary chilly day most of the day, but the sun came out for a while, just long enough to dry out the grass and warm things up for our Traditional Egg Hunt. I had my oldest son, his wife and their three boys here with me today and my dear Mother. The oldest grandson, my son & I had fun hiding the dozens of Easter Eggs up in the meadow on the hill and then we "unleashed the hounds" and the two little boys took off like greased lightening! They had a ball hunting for them! The rush was on for the "Golden Eggs". The oldest grandson hid one egg in our collie's collar and the little boys never did find it until Angus shook his head and the egg fell to the ground. Angus found a green egg on the ground and then just stood proudly over it for about 20 minutes. He was so proud he found one like the boys! Lots of smiles all around. Got some great pics of kids, grandkids and dogs. Had a great time together. Hope this finds everyone happy and well this Easter Sunday. Thank you for posting this Sandi. ~Annie ~Annie

Jan, glad you're doing well! I hear you about baking supplies... I'm glad I had huge pantry reserves when this craziness started. The trees are looking like they're as giddy about the prospect of going outside than I am to put them there, LOL! I'm very new to hydroponics. The Krakty method just seemed the easiest one to set up, no air pump or anything. I ordered 2 hexagonal planters from gogrowplanters. I got them from Amazon because I have prime, so shipping is quick and free. I called customer service on he gogrowplanters website, and the lady, Cindy, is absolutely phenomenal. She explained everything. Amy, I hear you! I feel like I'm sharing my house with 2 mutants, lol. Laura, great to hear from you! Yes, I've noticed you typically don't have as many high and lows in Annapolis than I do in Havre de Grace, although we're not even two hours apart. Ken, glad you're doing well. Your post brought back flashbacks of groundhog day, and you made me laugh out loud with the frost roulette, LOL ! Mike, it's so good to hear from you! I hope you feel better, and that your mom is ok! I know with absolute certainty that my trees would have been rotted dead 5 years ago, if it hadn't been for you, your UNWAVERING patience and all your kind advice. I'm very proud to consider you my friend. To each and every one of you, gimme pictures! Let us all live and travel vicariously though everyone else's pictures, LOL! Happy Easter! I watched the lovely service from St Thomas Episcopal Church, NYC. It's where my son goes to services when he's working in the city. It was a lovely service - choir was recorded so there could be music. It's such a gorgeous church.

Happy Easter, everyone. We were all packed and almost out the door last night to head up to visit my sister in AR and work on our new place in OK, when we canceled instead. Heavy thunderstorms were predicted all the way from Dallas through Ok and AR for Sunday into Monday, plus were were worn out from a very busy week. After speaking with DS, we all agreed it was a bad idea to head up there. So, we're relaxing at home, and I'm going to be spending my Easter afternoon working on taxes. What fun!

Happy Easter to all of you. I love Canarybird's card.So sweet. Love the "Easter buns", too.

So far I have spent the morning in my personal church -- out in the garden doing cleanup. It's wonderful to find plants starting to pop up. For me, the garden epitomizes rebirth and new beginnings. And backaches. Reminds you that you are alive!

I will have Easter dinner with my mom, same thing I do every Sunday, but she will make a fancier meal and we may eat in the dining room instead of the kitchen. My son will join us as well.

I miss the old days of hunting for eggs and making Easter baskets! Enjoy your holiday. If Easter is not your thing, then enjoy your day.

Heathens that we are, we started the day at the local flea market, then a fine breakfast of bagels and lox followed by a nap. I then went into my "personal church" ( I love that) and spent about 4 hours in the garden.

I spent the day with my neighbor/friend whose mom died recently. I pressure cooked a roast with potatoes, carrots, and onions. I think it would have been more tender had I done it in a crock pot... I put it in for an hour and it was good, but the crock pot (which I do not have... yet) would have given superior results. Made deviled eggs (had an awful time peeling them... they didn't look so hot, but I had fun piping the filling with a pastry bag), and pineapple upside down cake. He provided the frozen biscuits... we had a good time. I've just finished cleaning the kitchen and now am ready to collapse. I DID have a Cadburys Cream Egg and half of a chocolate bunny just to get in the spirit of things.

Happy Easter, all! I hope everyone had a nicer spring day than we did...it's pouring rain. My personal church still has a foot of snow on it, but I did plant some cauliflower, broccoli and cabbages in the greenhouse.

We had your basic ham, potato casserole, asparagus, salad and oatmeal honey rolls. And a floofy pineapple dessert that involves a Jiffy cake mix, cream cheese and cool whip, but it's tradition. I opted for yesterday's strawberry clafouti, but now that cool whip is calling to me.

Bobby, how nice of you to cook and spend the day with your neighbor/friend. The first holidays after a parent dies are so hard.

I love everyones cards here - still smiling at Nancy's butterflies, Sharon's card, Hoppy Keester and the poooor chocolate bunnies.

We just got home from a big family dinner of lamb, Italian style zucchini and tomatoes, Italian Easter bread, a wild and brown rice pilaf that we brought, several salads, lemon meringue pie, turtle brownies, chocolates and decaf. There were 17 of us at two tables. It was in the 40s and raining when we left Boulder and in the 30s and blizzarding when we drove the 80 miles to our DIL's parents home. They live at 7000 feet and the predicted snow/rain line for today was 6000 feet. Because the ground had been warm there was only a two inch accumulation - still, not exactly what you think of as spring weather.
