Happy Easter everyone!!!!

May you all have a Blessed Day!!! My children were running through the house at 6:55 looking for there Easter Baskets...me & hubby rolled over and said "Here we go" so downstairs we came...they were so excited !!! FUN!!!!

and to you too...!A beautiful day here....seasonally cool and sunny. Daffodils blooming, birds twittering and I am dressed for church and drinking coffee and eating a hot cross bun.

Happy Easter!

Set my clock for 7:30 am and when it went off, I got up. It was dark but I made myself get up.

Come to find out, our "smart clocks" re-set themselves. So it was only 6:30 am. No wonder I was so tired.

And I didn't know this until I went to wake up my husband and told him it was 11 o'clock. He then told me about the clocks re-setting themselves. D'OH!

Happy Easter! I've been on vacation and just now am back up and running. Good to home, all of them, including here. ___________________________________________________________ It just wasn't meant to be. I was on my way to church when BLAM! the car behind me tried to go inbetween the car next to me and me, but instead, he hit the car next to me. Because there wasn't any room. Thank God in Heaven above it wasn't me. I just kept saying, I don't know how he didn't hit me?! By all accounts he should've hit me too??? Honestly. If he had, I'd be in huge trouble. I don't have collision on my 22 year old car; would've had to buy one outright with ??money??? Couldn't be done. I moved my car and rushed over to everyone. No one was injured. He should not have been driving. He never even slowed down. No screeching tires? Nothing. Just wham. Then, as I drove on down the road, late but still going to church, my car overheated. So I let the car sit and cool down. Drove some, sit and cool down, until just now, I am back at home. Wasn't my day to be at church! I really wanted to, but it wasn't meant to be. No ham, potato salad, deviled eggs, carrot cake, etc. :( I am truly blessed and glad that it wasn't my car he hit, and that no one was hurt.

Phonegirl~ I love repurposing things and I love your idea. I've been eyeballing a stand lamp that my mom has discarded in the garage. Her's is shaped differently with almost a shepherds crook on the end...which may be what I end up using it for. Love your little bunny gardener. Very cute on the birdhouse. I've done that too Bebe. The lamp was one that my cousin was going to toss because the shade was broken. I painted it black and put a new red shade on it. Now I love it!

People don't realize that soy is genetically modified to withstand a large dose of Round-up, with Monsanto Corp. reaps double-profit from both. Since 91% of soy in this country is genetically modified, our soy is heavily-laden with pesticides. To get NON-genetically-modified soy, companies have to import soy from China, which is contaminated with heavy metals & also heavily sprayed with chemicals. Big Corporations benefit at the expense of consumer's health. Although soy has been known to suppress thyroid function for over 60 years, and although scientists have identified the goitrogenic component of soy as the so-called "beneficial Isoflavones. A very large percentage of soy is genetically modified and it also has one of the highest percentages of contamination by pesticides of any of our foods. Soybeans are high in phytic acid, present in the bran or hulls of all seeds. Phytic acid is a substance that can block the uptake of essential minerals - calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and especially zinc - in the intestinal tract. The soy industry hired Norman Robert Associates, a public relations firm, to get more soy products onto school menus. The USDA responded with a proposal to scrap the 30 per cent limit for soy in school lunches. The 'NuMenu' program would allow unlimited use of soy in student meals. With soy added to hamburgers, tacos and lasagna, dieticians can get the total fat content below 30 per cent of calories, thereby conforming to government dictates. Production takes place in industrial factories where a slurry of soy beans is first mixed with an alkaline solution to remove fiber, then precipitated and separated using an acid wash and, finally, neutralized in an alkaline solution. Acid washing in aluminum tanks leaches high levels of aluminum into the final product. The resultant curds are spray - dried at high temperatures to produce a high-protein powder. A final indignity to the original soybean is high-temperature, high-pressure extrusion processing of soy protein isolate to produce textured vegetable protein (TVP). Nitrites, which are potent carcinogens, are formed during spray-drying, and a toxin called lysinoalanine is formed during alkaline processing. In feeding experiments, the use of SPI (soy protein isolated) increased requirements for vitamins E, K, D and B12 and created deficiency symptoms of calcium, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, copper, iron and zinc. Phytic acid remaining in these soy products greatly inhibits zinc and iron absorption; test animals fed SPI develop enlarged organs, particularly the pancreas and thyroid gland, and increased deposition of fatty acids in the liver." Happy Easter!

My day hasn't been going the right direction since 7 this morning. I hope things will move smoothly as my day goes on. Looks like we will have a half decent day here, weather wise, about 5C at the moment and it's sunny out. Probably will take the boys out for a walk or go do something outdoor.

I want to make Easter bread basket but so far it's not a welcome idea to the boys. Went to the store with hubby. I wanted to buy some ham for dinner but he didn't like this and didn't like that. I ended up walking out of the store with nothing but frustration. I really should have said "no" when he offered to come with me. We probably won't have anything special tonight. Oh well, I did try.

Happy Easter everyone!

I was up until 1 a.m. making hot cross buns. They don't exactly look conventional, but sure do taste good!

Heading our shortly to have dinner with friends. The weather is glorious today!

Happy Easter to all of my CF friends from beautiful, sunny , warm Oakville! Gorgeous Day here!

Dinner isn't turning out quite how I planned ( see conversations) but I will be with people I love dearly, enjoy some laughs, good food and hopefully even better wine!

I love Easter , I love Spring and I love ham!!! LOL

Happy Easter All!

Having a *clink* while I put the finishing touches on our meal. I wimped out on the potatoes, just too much work with everything else going on...... This is what my kitchen looks like as I type:

So if I am cutting a few corners.... I'm sure the family will understand! LOL! Yes, that is DH putting in the new pantry...... could he have timed it better? Probably, but what the heck, I NEED the storage!

Happy Easter everyone! We ate at the oldest DGD's today, everyone contributed .... all 4 of my children and their spouses were there and 2 of the 4 grandchildren,with their spouses. A beautiful sunshiny day and wonderful food. I'm so thankful for my family and so grateful we could be together.

Happy Easter everyone!
Didn't get home until 1:00 this morning and then got up at 6:00. Cooking in the new kitchen for a crowd was trying, but dinner was only 20 minutes late and delicious. Absolutely gorgeous day, mid 70's and sunshine. I love having all the family here for the holiday or any other time.

It was a happy Easter here until the mid afternoon earthquake. The weather was otherwise cooperative with temps in the low 70s and sunny. The earthquake lasted a long time, however, and I got a bit sick to my stomach - but then I'm prone to seasickness. With everything swaying around, I got a bit dizzy. I thought my bathroom door would never stop swinging, and the hanging fixtures in the dining room swung for a long time, as did my hanging pots. Kevin was in the garage cleaning our old stove so that we could sell it, and he claimed he didn't feel it even though the bicycles in the garage were still swinging when he went back (after viewing the swinging fixtures). My blinds made the most noise. I think it was felt much more strongly in Yuma and San Diego.

We plan to have Easter dinner tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a good Easter.
We will be eating leftovers all week..
The weather was wonderful for early April and we walked down to the bay to see if the Bunny left any shells there..:)

Lars, you sure had a more exciting Easter than I did. Mine was pretty quiet, Ashley and Elery both had to work and they each had 12 hour shifts, so here we had Amanda, Dave, the Princess and Bruvver, my Mother and a cousin of Dave's, Tommy. Tommy is 8. The kids hunted eggs, ate too much chocolate and not much dinner, the weather was good, the food was good, it was all pretty normal. And I sent the leftovers home with Amanda!
