Natural Gas Line has no gas. Pipe dope the cause?
Comments (3)On the other hand... I guess the pipe dope could be the cause of the blockage. If I remember correctly, the pressure of the gas in the pipe is actually very low...less than the pressure created when blowing bubbles through a straw in a glass of milk. If there is a blockage of pipe dope, the gas pressure likely is too low to clear the blockage....See MoreExtending a gas line in NYC apartment

Comments (2)Even if you find it you cannot direct bury a gas line under a structure or under a slab. All gas lines under a structure or under a slab are required to be sleeved the full length of the run. The sleeve must be sched.40 pipe two nominal sizes larger than the gas line and the sleeve must be sealed on the inside end. The exterior end of the sleeve must be sealed to prevent ground water from entering the sleeve and you must provide an above ground vent. The vent must rise vertical from the sleeve, then turn 180deg so that the opening is pointing downward and the final opening must remain a minimum of 4" abovefinished grade....See Morerunning natural gas lines 'on' house
Comments (2)Exterior mounting is the common method for adding NG lines, normally costing much less to install than interior or underground. If it doesn't create an unavoidable eyesore, it's the way to go....See Morekalining
