Comments (10)Jane, I normally share my feelings here...and prayers sure would have been welcomed. But it was embarrassing to be scared senseless. I actually wrote out 'final wishes' for my husband and my daughter to take care if something should happen to me. Pretty pathetic, huh? (several years ago a friend of ours went in hospital for minor knee surgery and her heart stopped 3 times under the anethesia. She was in a coma for 6 wks then died. So that was really playing havoc with my anxiety as my surgery date grew nearer.) I'm still fighting it a bit till I get biopsy results. hugs, Karen...See MoreWhat color placemats?
Comments (18)Luvs, unfortunately there isn't a Home Goods anywhere close to me. I with there was! I did see those woven ones at Walmart today. They did have some pretty colors. Judith, I thought about what you said about being able to use them with lots of different sets. That really made me realize I couldn't justify spending that much money for either of these two colors. This is the only set of china that I would be able to use either color with. I still want to get some beaded ones, but will choose a color that I can use with most sets I have. Oh, and the napkin rings, etc. aren't included in the auction...just the placemats. So, I bought a set of blue ones from Walmart this afternoon. I really like the way it looks with the set. I honestly think I like it better than I would have the pink. I may still get a 6 more and spray paint them pink just to have if I want to change it up sometime. Then I popped into the dollar store just to look around and found a small basket almost the same color. Naturally I bought it. LOL I came home and played around with the china a bit today. I still need to do alot of work on it, but I'm having fun just playing. I need to find some napkins to go with this set, but Walmart didn't have any at all to match the placemats. What color would ya'll suggest? I had thought about maybe white or cream since the china has both colors in it. How do ya'll think one of those colors would work? Or should I try to go with maybe one of the flower colors? Here's a couple of photos after my fun time today...still want to do some more work on it though....See MoreHow do you store your placemats???
Comments (10)I use a lot of linen placemats and it is very vexing to want the kind that's on the bottom of the stack. No matter how careful you are, you can easily wrinkle a whole pile of them. My solution was to design a cabinet with doors that open to reveal a bank of very close together pullout shelves, so each kind is stored in its own stack and I can peel off what I need in a jiff. Below that I have several deeper (meaning the sides are higher) pullouts which are for napkins. I have some dividers on those to keep those stacks from falling over. As we only use cloth napkins, I need a lot of storage for them. HTH, Molly...See Morekgwlisa
