Hobby Lobby had my fav this week, 40% off.

Guess I need to go yarn shopping with extra coupons and several friends using one for me. :)

Sure, I use coupons. That's what they're printed for, right? Sometimes I'll even buy just one skein of yarn with a coupon and if it's a no dye lot I'll go back the next day and buy another. It's not out of my way, it's on my way home from work, so I'm not using extra gas. Hey, times are tough and this helps me justify my addiction just a bit, LOL.

I just come back from there! I love their 40% coupon and do the same as Donna :). I have one about a mile from my house and have been known to make a daily run to stock up on a project at a discounted price. If my son is with me, he will stand in line with a coupon too. I also print several and give to people standing in line with me that don't have one or not aware that HL has coupons.

Unless it's an item I know I buy all the time, I don't bother with coupons. It's just too much overhead for the benefit. I won't buy some other brand just because I have a coupon. And since it's only me, I don't need to buy three of anything. In addition, I do most of my food shopping at the co-op, and most magazine and newspaper coupons are not for brands I will find at the co-op. The few coupons I do use are kept on the refrigerator, right next to the weekly grocery list.

Yes Annie! Don't bargin shop for cat food. Cats have tender tummies and do best with one flavor of food. One local grocer probably thinks I'm nuts because the only thing I buy in his store is catfood... and I clean off his shelf of my cat's favorite when I'm there. Sometimes when people ask how many cats I have I tell them just one but he is big and very hungry. I buy all my cat litter at Walmart because I can get 100 lbs for $10... yup big kitty (most regulars know I have several small adorable kitties with names like Annie and Jessy). I so seldom use coupons. I've made the cashier shake her head when I turn to the customer behind me and give away the register coupons. I think of myself as a value shopper. If a product has quality and I'll enjoy eating it then I buy. Even being single I'll buy a 10lb roast and cut it into usable portions. I like beans and rice so my grocery budget is not big enough to worry about. Meat and fresh fruit seem to be the big hitters on my bill... and of course beer is almost a budget of it's own. We have a super bargin meat market 20 minutes down the road but I hate using that much time and gas. When I do go I fill the freezer... beef tenderloin is currently $7/lb, lake perch $9/lb, any kind of beef steak between $3-4/lb, ground chuck normally $2/lb. They probably only make pennies a pound but they sell meat by the ton everyday. I've been working with a very nice lady that enjoys coupons so I give her my Sunday paper. Last week she saved $11 with them. She enjoys it so I was careful not to rain on her parade but when I asked what she bought she said "junk food and a couple things I normally buy". I'm a terrible shopper and usually just buy the same things over and over. I noticed I now have three bottles of my favorite vinegar in the pantry. At least I've done a fair job eating down the pantry and freezer so I can see what I have in there. Just picked another quart of tomatoes out of my garden. People were telling me a month ago to pull up the vines but they keep flowering and putting out new tomatoes so I'll hold back until the frost kills them. Hard to beat "free" food. : ) lyra

I really don't blame the franchisee for not accepting them during their busiest times, they have to make a buck and it's hard to tell how (or if) KFC corporate is repaying them for the meals they are giving away. And even if they are reimbusrsing them for the actual food the franchise owner is paying his employees for taking care of those customers. They make their money during the peak dining hours and have to wait on the paying customers. Makes sense to me. Often the marketing departments come up with these wonderful ideas and the poor franchisees have no option but to honor them with little advance notice.

I often take my daughter with me and she uses the coupons on my additional yarn purchases.....but,Donna, I'm not sure one has to wait a day between purchases, as each one is a separate and distinct transaction..(and, we can always go to a different clerk if embarrassed!!) lol I just LOVE getting a 'deal' on anything I buy!

Sandra, it's not that I'm embarrassed, or that I think I need to wait a day, LOL. The store is on my way home from work, but still about 8 miles from my house. So, I just make a pitstop on the way home when necessary.

LOL, last time my daughter needed yarn, we both had a skein when we got to the cashier. She tried to give another coupon to the lady behind us, but that woman insisted she go and get the third skein she needed, cause she would get it for her. :)

Ulrike gave her the skein, coupon and money and got the third skein.

There are nice people out there!!!

I've been spending my 40% off coupons from Hobby Loby for thse new light up crochet hooks. I have one of every size now and several J's They are so comfortble to use and the little light in the hook part is nice if I wan to use it

My nearest Hobby Lobby is like an hour drive(I live in a teeny tiny town) Are there other companies out there who have Mfgr coupons for certian brands or something? I love knitting, but my local Wal-Mart only carries a few brands and only a few sub types and weights of each brand.*cries* I have a yarn store that's only 22 miles from me, but would love to have some mfgr coupons to help justify driving so far just for yarn. LOL
