Carrier Hybrid system - DESPERATE

First off....my hat goes off to all of the HVAC tradesmen. There is an extraordinary underestimation of the knowledge base and incredible skill set it takes to work in the world of HVAC!

With that said I really need an objective opinion on a carrier system we are considering.

Particulars:

We live in a 2800 sq foot home in western Pennsylvania. Our current system is a 20 year old Rheem furnace (about 64% efficiency)and a 20 year old 3.5 ton 10 SEER Rudd air conditioning unit. Neither of these units have ever given us a maintenance issue. They have been great!!

We have essentially narrowed the playing field to the following:

Carrier - Infinity Hybrid System

Infinity Control Thermostat

95%/100,000 BTU Furnace

Heatpump 4 ton 16 SEER unit

Tin coil

Trane Clean Effects Air Cleaner

Carrier Power Humidifier

All in cost $9965.

My questions are as follows.....

Is a heatpump combination in Western PA a viable option or are we better off going with with a standard furnace/AC arrangement?

Is the total all in price of $9,965 reasonable including: furnace, heat pump, trane air cleaner, and carrier power humidifier ?

Is the TRANE air cleaner a best option for $800?

Is the Carrier power humidifier a best option for $390?

Is the hybrid system a better option than the furnace for $675.00 add on?

Again....my sincere thanks for anyone such as ryanhughes or tigerdunes who may respond!

Andrea
