My first quilt of 2009....

I love all the photos so far today...as always. It gives us a peek into other peoples lives and where they live.

These are more paper whites that our neighbor gave us. They are really blooming fast! They kind of look like plastic.

Wanda, you're an uber-quilter!! Surely you're not saying you did the entire quilt, start to finish, in 2009?? Your work is spectacular.

The quilt was the first one finished in 2009--but it was started in November. It was a fun and easy quilt to make, and took considerably less time than the average quilt. The spikey wheels and borders were paper-pieced, the leaves and stems were appliqued, and the flowers were broderie perse (a French term--they were carefully cut from a floral fabric and then appliqued onto the quilt). The quilt measures 65"x65".

alisande....I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your B&W photos. You were an adorable little girl, as was your cousin, Barbara. I always thought that instead of being your age at that time, I would have liked to be "mother" age. It was such a great era. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Declansmom. I was just thinking today that Barbara's mother and mine (who were sisters, and very close) must have had a good time being pregnant together. Barbara and I were actually due within days of each other, but she arrived a month early. She was born March 15, and my birthday is April 19.

Wanda, "easy" is a relative term. Easy for you, maybe. :-)
