( Rinse it out of your clothes before adding it to a front loader!) Oh, I also got some clay out of carpet. It says its colorfast... Our stucco wall that was terribly stained and we cleaned all the clay off before painting. It worked beautifully! I don't have linoleum so I haven't tried that, but the description says it works on linoleum. I also go through gallons of the regular krud kutter....love the stuff! Good luck!!

I know I don't have to quote Murphey's law about if things are done the easiest way. Although laying a floor on top of an existing floor is done all the time, sometimes it is better to bite the bullet and take up the old before adding the new. This can be a challenge if the previous tiles contain asbestos. I've had good luck and bad luck doing it the way you want to. If the existing lays very flat and is not texture with fake grout lines or designs, try this.... Wash very thouroughly with ammonia. This will take up the wax. Do it at least twice. I hesitate to suggest sanding since older tiles contain asbestos. If using a one piece floor, you should have no problems. If you are using 12x12 tiles (or smaller or, larger) you'll need to use a tile glue. In a test area, put some glue down, smoothly, with a small putty knife, about a 2inch by 2 inch spot. Let it dry. Try to take the glue up. If it is difficult to do, then I think you'll be safe to glue and lay tile. I wouldn't suggest using the pre-glued tiles since the glue may not be sufficient.

This product has been installed in a break room area about 5 years ago now. In this breakroom/kitchen area are all appliances and about 20 chairs on rollers --around 4 or 5 kitchen tables. The room is about 35 feet long and 20 feet wide with kitchen cabinets on 2 sides, all appliances, etc etc etc....This break area is shared by some 100 employees every day from 7am to 6pm or later, and includes a kitchen sink, dishwasher, multiple kinds and sizes of ovens, a cooktop, a soft drink dispenser, 2 commercial coffee makers, an ice machine and water dispenser, huge refrigerator.....This product is in perfect shape as nice as it is now, and was new. It looks like new. It is very soft and very quiet to walk on. It has a cushion thickness to it. I highly recommend this product, even more than a wood look vinyl floor, because it is quiet, durable, cushioned and even tho it is a tile shape, rather than a roll with one seam, in the room across the width, it is holding up very well. DO put cushioned mats or rugs near sink/dishwasher and range, just so you can gain that extra protection in case the knife gets dropped on the surface, but...that said, there is none of that in this room. Enjoy searching for the colors combo you like most. It may be the larger size, such as 15 inch square? It is very attractive, too.

There is some really nice looking vinyl out there these days that is super easy to install. Hardwood doesn't usually go under the cabinets if it's installed after they're in place (we put it in my last kitchen) but depending on how high-end your house is, it might not make sense to invest in it if you're going to sell in the near future. I'm planning to do large checker board cork floors in the house I'm buying since it's an older home. They're great in kitchens and Globus has some gorgeous designs.
