How do you use Pinterest?

I enjoy pinterest but have learned I can't just quickly bop in to retrieve something I've pinned. I go in for the chicken recipe I pinned last month and end up browsing for an hour. I find it handy to go back to an article or manufacturer I didn't have time to read earlier. It is also a good way for me to see what is trending in the home decor world too. It's fun following friends from gw though at times I forget who is who if the Pinterest names don't match the GW names.

OK, in a nutshell.............What is Pinterest????? How does it work? I got a invite but I had to have facebook or twitter so I deleted the letter. How do you join without facebook? What are you pinning up, are they your items, I don't get it.

My anti-virus software hates Pinterest. When I click on one of the many links as Annie describes it keeps giving me, "Are you sure you want to go there?", messages. Much of the stuff I see on the Food and Drink page uses cans of this and packages of that we don't use. There's so many duplicates on that page it irritates me. I just can't handle all the crockpot chicken things. It was interesting for the first couple weeks but the novelty has worn off and I've not looked at Pinterest in weeks. If I was 25 and had a very young family - maybe. But I'm not. I'm an experienced cook and we are empty nesters. I'm not trying to push a blog so there doesn't seem to be any reason to add the frustration to my life. I've got enough of that already. /tricia

I finally got a pinterest invite. Problem though

I got your invite, and figured out what the problem was. There is a page that pops up that says they will post to Facebook or Twitter as me and I clicked the "Don't allow" button, and that's when it took me around in circles. When I clicked "Allow", it let me go to the registration page. However, now I'm stuck on a page with a 502 error that says Pinterest is experiencing a hiccop, with an option to try again, which just goes back to the registration and hiccop page. So I'll try again later.

If a person has an invite is it possible to join without being a twitter or Facebook member? I don't really want to join those groups.

Hi enjoying spring ... as you are in Canada, I'm wondering whether you may be a bit early?

When I saw your name, I wondered ...

... if you were wondering whether you might be expecting, would your family, seeking confirmation, ask, "Judy, b you kidding?"?

Have a question about Pinterest.

How do you post an original post, I know how to repin from others but how do I enter a new "recipe". Still trying to find my way around this site. Thanks

First, you need to install their Pin It tool on your toolbar. (really easy). Then as you cruise around the internet, if you find something you like, you click on the Pin It tool. A page with all the pictures on the internet page you're looking at pops up and you click on the picture you want to "pin". Decide on which of your boards you want to put it on, give a brief description and pin it.

The pin will contain the original URL of the site you "pinned", so you can go back to the site anytime and pull the recipe.

You can also load pictures from your own PC and type in a brief description.

I have requested an invite from their site at least 3 times and my Daughter has sent me 3 but nothing comes through my email, not even in my spam folder. Are others having the same problem or is it just me?

If any of you are able, would you be willing to try sending me an invite? Thank you very much in advance.

Lynn,

I sent you another email. I'm trying to sign up without using FB or Twitter but the link you sent takes me directly to FB. I prefer not to be signed up through those accounts. Thanks.
