Bryant Evolution HP Setback Issue

We just started using the Evolution Control feature to program our heat pump to maintain 65 degrees beginning at 10pm and then reverting back to our preferred 69 degree set point at 6am. I woke up at 5:15am and noticed the system was on high stage and the Auxillary Heat was activated and remained activated until 6:22am when it immediately shifted to low stage when the 69 degree temp was reached. the outside temp was 39 degrees.
I can't imagine that the system is designed to do this. It defeats the whole purpose of having an efficent system if it ramps up to Auxillary Heat every time ther is a setback. Is this normal? Is there a way to set the system up to not go to Auxiallary Heat unless it has to?
