Need help badly with OSMO polyx oil

So- in my search to find a non-toxic, non-plastic, cost effective hardwood floor finish, I purchased the Osmo Polyx Hardwax Oil, it's a german product that mixes oils with 2 waxes. It looks beautiful on our 70-year old Douglas Fir floors, but there are a couple issues-

1: the sheen is a little irregular, there are a couple spots that look kind of dry and

2: we would like to have a little bit more shine overall, mainly to increase the dust-resistance.

The product states Satin-Matt, which is fine, but it also says that it can be buffed for a higher sheen. Unfortunately, I can't find a single instruction on exactly how to do that. Does anyone have experience with this sort of product? We are DIY-ers, although my BF is an experienced woodworker by trade. By no means are we flooring experts, but we can't afford to bring an expert in at this point so any help would really make my holidays a little bit brighter!
